My friend in Colorado does that, it's like backpacking, but another task to go with it. He said it took him about five years until he got his first elk (he bow hunts), he said he was crying because so much had led up to that moment.

At 55 years at 85kg just before xmas 2019 which was the last time I tried for some singles

Bench 145kg (wrist wraps)
Dead 210kg (belt)
Squat 160kg (belt) (my knees are rubbish and struggle bad in the hole)

Today I pulled a single arm dumbell clean and press (from the floor) for a double at 47.5kg, only got a single with the 50kg with my right hand though, my left didn'teven get the clean, finished my sess with a single clean shoulder press at 102.5kg.

Ok for my age, well, not my squats, my squat is rubbish.

In saying that, my arthritis dictates my training now, and currently, my right rotator cuff has requested copious amounts of panadol and alcohol.

How are your numbers going?

Impressive. Most I ever did bench was 345lbs during my wrestling days. That was about 17 years old. I weighed 135lbs. I won a couple weightlifting trophies because judged on % of body weight.

Now I'm lucky to do 100lbs.

i always imagine someone figured out things like sugar beets could be made useful only after someone bet money that they were useless.

That's not too shabby for someone your age.
Just make sure to strengthen those weak links like your rotator cuffs

I went through a gym junky phase for about 3 years. I got much stronger; I went from unloaded bar (10kg?) bench press to 50kg dumb bell press (6-8 reps). I had an analogy of blowing up a balloon with small leaks, you have to keep on blowing otherwise all the air is going to escape. 3 months? 5 months? after I stopped going to the gym all my strength/size had hissed away.
