first sighting at ny auto show

so my first time seeing a real frs and a brz, lemme tell you that trunk is shallow as hell and the regular radio and speaker system is pathetic. i dont know if people really looked into it with the testing and all but i would like a better system for when im traffic etc. i forgot to check the tv equiped one but i doubt its any different. those seats! those seats are the truth!!! best car to sit in thru the entire show, porche 911, genesis and audi s3 have nothing on these seats or the driver oriented feeling of it. i cant wait to get it but i see room for improvement, as always.

Don't know about the BRZ's system, but for the Scion... they had to keep the costs down somehow right? (Basic stereo, basic interior materials, manual air controls, headlights, ect.) Reading from what the First 86 stated about the BeSpoke option sounds interesting...but $800 is a bit much in my mind, especially for a unit that uses your cell phone as its means of data and apps build in yet isn't even ready for Andriod whichh is the largest market share OS on cells phones right now.

Course they were also stating the VP of Scion was still signing off on particulars of that unit as of last Friday so I guess only time will tell.

I really wouldn't get your hopes up for the Subaru nav system. Trunk is to be expected, but I'm hoping I can get 1 set of golf clubs into the widest part though.

There's 3 on display, but most people took pictures of the Whiteout and Asphalt one and it only came in AT.

Don't know about the Hot Lava one

i was there Saturday night and let me tell you.. the only thing that dissapoints are the back seats... i'm 5'11 210lbs (weight room 6 times a week) i felt confortable in the driver and passenger side but theres absolutely no leg room i mean ABSOLUTELY NO LEG ROOM for the back seat.... IMO they should've just done away with.. waste of space and adds weight for no reason... the only way someone can fit there is if someone who is very thin (border anorexic) is driving the car...... other than that... the car is just what i expected to see... but then again i was very dissapointed w/ the back seat.. not that i wana be riding w/ ppl in the back but it might happen occasionally ... sadly i wont be able to take anybody....

I'm just hoping that I'll be able to cram my kid's legs back there on occasion if need be... If it can do that? I'm golden!

You can. It should fit a kid back there just fine. It's just not suitable for adults.

And 5'11" 220 is a big dude. Should be just fine for 5'5" - 5'9" and workable for the bigger guys.

I'm betting the scion will have a better audio system. Last I heard it was a 300 watt system compare to 180 for the brz. Subarus typically have bad standard audio setups. My moms 09 forrester sounds anemic.

Stereo

I heard the oem unit in the FRS this last weekend, it sounded great! I have a 11' STi and the base system SUCKS ...

The SCION FR-S sounded Way Better - 300 watt system shines!!

Yea u can sit in the and poke at them with electricity powered too them, the 2 frs are auto 1 has a gps. And the subaru is manual.knob still there lol

Yea I think a camry has a better sound system.we tried the eq settings and its a tad raspy and has no bass. I mean I daily with a 1100watt single 12 but I know this system is sub par to other car.. but Its changeable so not a big prob for me id rather they cut that to keep costs down
