Don't know what to do now :/ pretty limited options on a quad exhaust with the others being double the price of the remark quad. Do really like the exterior sound of it aswell. I looked up the JDL quiet front pipe you recommended but saw a few comments saying the resonator in it did next to nothing, and like you said it's an additional 300-600 usd for me with the nice fat international shipping fee attached to it. |

would this work? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-Inlet-....c100677.m4598 or is it too small/ shit quality? MXP quad is a couple hundred more but i'd have to cut into the diffuser and I don't like that it only comes in burnt tips Last edited by Sam86; 07-13-2020 at 09:34 AM. |

Ok I think i've found my solution. These guys are local to me so i'm thinking of getting this exhaust and then having these exhaust tips welded on.
https://xforce.com.au/product/est862vkcs/ exhaust https://xforce.com.au/product/ty15-76/ tips I've found the same exhaust on another local site on sale so all together i'd be looking at around $1250 aud for the exhaust and have around $95 to spare that would go towards welding the tips and that would leave me at the same cost of the ft86 quad + shipping (which would have been 940 usd to $1345 aud, aswell as the shipping time). The added bonus being that i'd have a resonator and more importantly a valve switch thrown in so if my Tomei UEL does make it stupid loud, I can turn it off for daily driving. Still going to do more research to make sure the dual tip will fit. I'm thinking it might as it's only 1.5" wider than my 4.5 stock tips which still have a little bit of space on either side. |

Stay away from 3" on NA. Loud and drone is in your future. Are you stuck on quad tips?

And yea I am, I just like how quads look way more than the standard dual tips, they all look the same and 90% of other 86's have them. Burnt tips don't suit the style i'm going for either. I think i'm set though, the catback I bought has interchangeable tips that you just clamp on and they sell universal quad tips in the same dimensions as the remark x ft86 exhaust (2.5 inlet with dual 3" outlets) Not gonna lie though wasn't expecting tips alone to be as expensive as they are ($180 aud so around $125 usd for 2 of them). Still prefer the sound of the remark x ft86 but I think my purchase was smarter since it still sounds great, is cheaper for me since it's local, and I have that valve option if I wanna sound stock. Probably won't receive it or have it installed for a few more weeks because my area is still in total lockdown (with lots of police checkpoints set up) but i'll come back and update everyone on how it went so people wanting the same thing I did can potentially go my route. Here's sound clips of it- keep in mind though that they have the 3inch with UEL headers installed for these tests (as do I) and probably the front pipe swapped out. Skip to 1:55 for the open/closed comparison. It'll be louder and deeper than what I got but pretty close Last edited by Sam86; 07-18-2020 at 11:33 PM. |

Quads
I just got this exhaust. And I have to say it def is underrated for a fact. Nice deep rumble, not too loud and quads look real good on stock housing. Now for any critical opinion, yes there sOme cabin drone at 3k--THo I rock a stock header... for now...
Lookin to drop a turbo next so I am looking at headers and a down pipe--Shall see what this does to overall dc. Getting my parts together now so hah. |

I don't plan on doing it myself because I think its fine, but you could probably buy a pair of those exhaust exit covers for people running a single exit exhaust, and trim them down so they flatten the top of the exhaust, or contour them to fit around the dual tip- could be a solution for those that want the TRD cover look but don't want to cut into their bumper to achieve it |

And i'd wish for there to be single cutout and single exhaust tip in first place, as even dual-tip, seem more of posing/less function(unnecessary weight & cost) for car with small displacement 4-banger. If one wants high-end style & looks, then center exhaust tip was way to go anyway vs dual or quad tips. Funny, but stock bumper cutouts make it look bad for single exhaust tip catbacks too, with cutout covers helping little, due cutout flange being convex, not flat, and all available covers not helping hiding it.
