Buy a clean used one now and if the new comes out and u decide you want it you can sell the used. Better re sale if you keep it stock as in no engine mods, exterior mods are ok.

If I didn't have to wait too long, I would wait for the facelift. Once the facelift comes out, the older model may start to look dated.

Get a 1st gen once 2nd gen comes out. But I have a feel that 1st gen price might go up? O.O

They are marketing a gravity-drive FRS in Tibet. It will get you all the way to the coast of Bangladesh if you take the right roads.
All joking aside, this car is pretty damn good the way it is now.

I say BUY today, enjoy today, and enjoy every other day after that as the FRS is great as it is!

If there's a face lift, and you do end up liking it more - will you be unsatisfied with a current gen. GT86?
I know personally I wouldn't care. A face lift on a new model isn't going to diminish the enjoyment I receive from this car or change my perception on how the current gen. cars look. I think the current gen. GT86 / FR-S / BRZ look good, and will continue to look good even if the next gen. look even better. Given how conflicted you are, if you're not in any hurry to make a purchase - wait it out. If nothing materializes in April and you're still interested, ignore any other rumors you're hearing and just bite the bullet. |

Buy mine so that I can buy the face lift. It's a win-win for both!

I heard that Tetsuya Tada is coordinating with Zefram Cochrane on a warp drive FRS.

If facelift is important, wait for it. If you don't like it, just get a used 1st gen. Should be even cheaper when the newer model comes out. I would not buy a brand new one unless no used ones are available(like with the refresh right after it launches)

Better yet, get a low-mileage used one, and have more money for gas. |

Check his location though, I don't think he has as many dealership options as we do. Even with the coverage we have, sometimes it's difficult. I'm in NY and there were exactly *3* on the whole East coast built the way I wanted. One each in MA, PA, and FL. So it was take one of those (minimum 160 miles away) or wait a few months for an allocation to be built for one of the 8 local dealerships... It was a lovely road trip home in the new car. |
