2015 BRZ Limited key retrofit

Hey guys,

Up here in New England we haven't gotten any 2015 BRZ's yet. Yes, it's frustrating. My question to those who have their 2015's already: what does the key look like? Is it this new style like on the 2015 Legacy and Outback?

Or is it the same old Prius-style key like the 2013's and 2014's? I want to find a way to upgrade to the new style key but I don't know how easily it can be done without the BRZ being available with that key. Might have to get a little creative...

Excellent! Now to figure out how to retrofit. I assume programming it won't be the difficult part; it would be getting the key cut to my VIN considering the part number for the new key won't match the VIN of the older car. Could probably live without having the metal key cut (not that I ever need to use the key inside the fob), but just to have it work 100% like factory would be the best option.

Let me know if you figure it out, I'd love one of those new keys for mine too.

It's really not. I think it's slightly longer (or appears so as the end of the key stuck out on the old fob) and maybe a tiny bit thicker, but smaller in every other way because of it's rounded edges and tapered shape.
