2013 Porsche Boxer is revealed early

Quote:
Insideline
The redesigned 2013 Porsche Boxster and Boxster S go on sale in Europe in mid-April, with new sheet metal and more powerful engines. Prices in Germany start at $61,335 for the Boxster and $75,100 for the Boxster S, including 19 percent VAT.
Porsche said the third-generation models will be powered by direct-injection flat-6 engines that can be coupled with either a standard six-speed manual gearbox or the PDK seven-speed double-clutch gearbox.
The standard 2013 Boxster gets a 2.7-liter flat-6 to replace the previous 2.9-liter unit, with output rising from 255 to 261 horsepower. Output on the 3.4-liter six in the Boxster S is nudged slightly from 310 to 311 hp. Porsche says the standard Boxster will accelerate from zero to 60 in less than 5.7 seconds, while the Boxster S will perform the same function in less than 5.0 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono package provides even better performance and driving dynamics.
A start-stop system and other tweaks also mean the engines will deliver up to 15 percent better fuel economy.
The 2013 Boxster gets new sheet metal, a new power-operated top that stows neatly behind the seats and a revised ****pit with more space for driver and passenger.
The chassis has been redesigned, and the car features lower weight, a longer wheelbase, wider track and larger wheels, as well as a new electromechanical power steering system.
Whats your take on the new Boxer?

Perhaps taking some styling cues from it's big brother?

it looks amazing in silver, someone caught it a while ago. There were rumors of a turbo 4 back then but I guess that never happened

I'm always a fan of the hard top over the convertible. The Cayman is one of the best looking cars on the road IMO, can't wait to see the new one.

And the Boxter was nothing like the prototypes they had on the road. If the Cayman is just a hardtop 2013 Boxter its going to look dead sexy.

Time to win the lotto.

I love it. I'm actually getting an R8 convertible feeling from it. I think it's the side intakes.

FINALLY a noticeable change from the current gen. The current 2nd gen Cayman (a Boxster hardtop as mentioned) supposedly had completely new body panels all around compared to the previous 1st gen.

1st gen (top), 2nd gen (bottom)

WHAT?

Very nice. Probably the first Boxster I've said that about.
