The worst part of the whole NBC purchase... It's not the coverage or the commercials... It's that they traded Varsha for LEE DIFFY. The worst commentator in the history motorsports.

I'm canceling my TV service as next year I will be downloading all F1 broadcasts in HD from SKY SPORTS via Torrent. Thank you Internet for allowing me have choice that the "free market" won't.

Leigh Diffey is a great guy, he is a good buddy of mine. I think it would be fantastic to have Varsha and Diffey calling the races for F1. Leigh I believe is officially gone from SPEED channel and is on NBC full time with Indy Car, F1, possibly Olympics and others.

To another topic, were any of you guys at Austin F1? Had a great time there courtesy of my sponsor in GRAND-AM.

I've been an F1 fan as long as I can remember. We had bleacher seats at Turn 11. The race and the experience was amazing. I'm hooked, will likely go next year (and every year after that!).

I'm a Mark Webber fan, but in Austin he was out with a bad alternator on lap 16. Oh well. Hamilton is another favorite of mine, have liked him since I saw him on Top Gear after his first year. His win in Austin was great. Was fun to see DRS working in person with him catching Vettel on the straight after Turn 11. Haven't cheered that hard for Hamilton in a good while even though he was beating my favorite driver's teammate. There was a lot of decent action at the USGP, Brazil was crazy though!

Oh, and 2.4L V8s at 18k RPM in person is way better than on TV!

I also grab the Sky Sports F1 feeds the day after the race because it's so much better than watching it on anything we have here in the States.

I'm sure he's a great guy but that doesn't make him any better of an announcer. I've DVR'd several of the other races this year like IRL and Grand Am and I couldn't finish watching the broadcast because Lee wouldn't stop yelling at me!

Since you're his friend would be so kind to tell him that viewers would like him to speak like a normal human being? It would also be terrific if he would take a moment here and there to actually breathe or end a freakin' sentence!

I fully agree. Raikkoken in the man. Best pass this year was Kimi passing Micheal at SPA, Eau Rouge after the DRS detection then using DRS to distance himself.

i've go karted a bit and its plenty of pucker

just try tracking a worked convertible..sheeet

for me ,it totally messes with me, realizing how false that hardtop sense of security is- I love to push them limits but will be the 1st to admit that its scary, all machismo aside, I dont think I could drive a f1 car at the limits, being honest with myself, it takes titanium balls not just steel!

Pretty much explains how difficult and mind-bending it is to drive a F1 car. It's terrifying and nearly impossible when you're not doing 9 or 10/10ths.

Today's race kinda took on a soap opera vibe with the post race squabbling inside the top 2 teams. Pretty awkward, I'm sure all sorts of gossip is gonna be flying around over the next few weeks.
