90% of the reveal is talking about rally and turbocharged cars and then they dump a brz in the last 50 seconds or so. The only talking point that piqued my interest was the 50% more torsional rigidity claim.

Well, seeing it in video has helped. The look is a lot more coherent than these leaked pics. 228hp and 175lb-ft was about what I expected. Not bad.

It really does look much better in video. I have the same feelings about those leaked photos.

I actually like it, but I had this thought while looking at the front and now can't unsee it.

This looks promising: “ Light-weighting measures aimed at offsetting the extra weight of the bigger engine include an aluminium roof, front guards and bonnet, while more extensive use of high-strength steel and additional structural enhancements are said to improve crash safety, help improve weight distribution, lower the centre of gravity and improve agility.”

The front end I'm still getting used to but the view from the rear 3/4 is beautiful. Appreciate the HP and TQ bump while keeping the weight under 2900. Can't wait to see the performance numbers like 0-60 and 1/4 mile!

OK, this is hot.

I don't hate it anymore now that I've seen it on video. And maybe now that I've seen it in something other than WRB. haha

Yeah. Could look better, but doesn't look awful. Don't like the interior, but could probably get used to the looks of this whole car some day. Don't think I can ever say it looks better than gen1, but I'm sure some day I'll say gen2 is a good looking car. But I like the specs so far. Honestly, the power and torque bump are great IMO, probably a good bit better than my header and dyno tune, which feels plenty fun. Better tires for in stock form. Better rigidity, excited to learn more about how the car feels rocking side to side. Impressed with the manual weight, barely up from gen1. So far.. I'm keeping my mouth shut about looks as it doesn't thrill me at all, but I'm happy with specs. Looking forward to learning more about what it's capable of vs gen1.

In general, I like the tech changes, don't care for the cosmetic changes although it does look better in colors other than silver.

Cosmetically, I do like it better than the Gen 1 Subaru, less than than the Gen 1 Scion/Toyota.

If this had been the only Gen 1 car, I wouldn't have purchased it. I guess we'll see what Toyota does with it for final judgement.

As an aside, I think they've worn out the "it isn't about a straight line" mantra. I agree with it, but bottom line is that it is a little about the straight line.
