Guys make their own adaptors all the time. Not really much of an obstacle.

Honda has a support team that works with those that are doing swaps so there’s factory backup so there shouldn’t be any disasters

Factory backup doesnt mean free backup. If money isnt an issue, you wouldnt be swapping a k engine in, you'd be swapping something much more interesting.

Someone would just make an adapter to get a S2k motor to mate to it.

The Pure Automotive K24 swap kit is like $18k in parts alone, using a ~$1000 k24. The K Power kit is looking like it'll be more like $10k (uses a Haltech instead of Motec, and keeps the stock gearbox).

To get this engine in, you're looking at easily more than $20k total with a gearbox that'll actually hold the power, I'd say closer to $25k.

A K24 is a better flowing engine than the CTR engine, and can arguably hold just as much power (boosted obviously) without needing to be built stronger.

The CTR engine only has VTEC on one cam (forget which one), and the exhaust manifold is part of the head which limits mounting options.

For a track toy, I can see this as an interesting option to an LS swap. Also, the 305hp number is on the type R civic, which has catalytic converters and is factory tuned with emissions and fuel usage as a concern. In a full free flowing exhaust with an agressive tunning, this will probably be closer to 350 or so, putting it into v8 power territory.

Even in the CTR it makes way more than 305 crank hp, it's more like 290-300 whp. Swapping this and being fully functional won't be any harder than an LS, K series, etc. Any ecu that can run those will easily run this too.

The stock computer can technically run it. Forgot who it was but someone on the forum here had a K running off the Subaru computer. They are obviously very good at what they do though and it's not plausible to believe just anyone could do it. But it's been proven

IIRC it has VTEC disabled to do that though, and a bunch of custom work.

Vtec isn't that big of a loss. Lots of custom work for sure. But it's possible

It was solidsnake11. He deleted his posts, but it didn't have a step-by-step/DIY writeup or anything. I think he adapted the stock harness into the Honda's actuators. KPower notes that there will be a stock ECU option instead of using the Haltech ECU. I don't know if it will be cheaper to use the the stock ECU and then using ECUTEK like solidsnake11 did than just using the Haltech system. We will see.

Haltech is fuckin expensive so I don't see how it couldn't be cheaper. All current swap options that reuse the stock computer are cheaper than the fancy standalones. Only option that might be cheaper is the Hydra EMS from Element Tuning. It could be made to run a Honda motor but I certainly don't have the knowledge to do it

I don't think Haltech is that bad. Motec is far more pricey.
