When you've adjusted the calibration of drivability and power related tables and run out of goals to tune for. Fuel economy is important too. I also think any tune with more than 3% LTFT besides idling is unacceptable. I've already all the power I want from the setup, why not dial in the fuel economy? If for nothing else, shits and giggles.

If daily driving fuel economy matters, i'd think of working on it in tune in low to mid rpms, like 1.7-3.5K rpms, below dip. This part of powerband is not used on track anyway, where everybody tries to keep in real powerband, 4K till redline. Load also is less, so maybe less safe timings or leaner AFR may work?

The 4-2-1's, some of them at least, actually add a bump of torque where the dip is whereas the UEL seem to flatten them out. For instance, my Long tube 4-2-1 pipe actually peaks right after where the dip used to be (165 ft lbs on E85 vs Stocks 120ish ft lbs. on 91) It's like driving a different car. Vetack like.
