Yeah, fuck the DH. It's also taken away more of the strategy of the game.

I'm not sure I'd pay at all if I didn't have a split deal with a friend on YouTube tv. I pay him $22 or so a month, which is a steal. If not for that I probably wouldn't bother. At least KNBR is solid.

I’ll take you up on that next year when the missus wakes up one morning and suddenly decides she doesn’t like the color anymore.

Well I’ll be done by then I hope. Will have a shop full of cars to work on though since I owe quite a few favors right now. Tryin to talk the guy that has an AE86 to let me tow it to my shop so I can rebuild the engine and go through it.

Yeah, you definitely need to teach her to paint.
Not sure which Behr you used (or color) nor whether they've possibly gotten any better or worse, but in the past I've found it worth splurging on premium paint - better coverage, fewer coats.

She helps, but still sucks. The whole preparation and process still sucks. We had a really ugly blue color that took about 3 layers to cover up. We went with the Marquee quality and still had to do the recoats.

Priming over dark colors saves a lot of time.

Yep. Should’ve definitely done that in hindsight. Also invest in a spray gun. I’ll give it a try when I restore the doors later on the year. We haven’t done much to the house since we got it back in 2020, so I’m slowly checking things off the list. Next is building shelves for the closets and install gutter guard.

Oh yea, New homes can't have natural gas or propane. Not green enough.
yea, i've been seeing articles about that. considering it's my job, i really should be more interested in this whole "convert the entire world to electric". but i just can't get behind dropping all these legacy fuel options for a singular option for absolutely everything.

with the serious lack of infrastructure investment coupled with converting vehicle and hvac loads to electric, it just seems like we're dooming ourselves to perpetual rolling blackouts year round...

not to mention literally pricing everyone out of houses with all these cost increases, but no talk of government housing, which at the current rate, 3/4's of the US is gonna need in about 10 years...

first mow today.

needs work.

everything on it hooks on the fence. need to adjust the height lever more inboard so it doesn't stick out past the wheels. need to figure out something else for the mid-point handle wing nut pieces, they hook on the fence.

and most irritating, the bag top/bottom panels are solid, the side panels are vented. it doesn't poof up like previous bags, so it's almost impossible to tell when it's full.

otherwise, it mows, and it's quieter than what i had.

Ya, I hear that!

Back in Missouri, I bought a 4,000 sq ft house. My wife (now ex) wanted it all painted or wall papered so it would be personalized. So, I did that.

A few years later she took off. So, I met the present mrs humfrz and we sold her condo and she and her daughter moved into my house with my two sons. She wanted the whole house re-painted or wallpapered so it would be personalized (different from the old mrs humfrz's tastes). So, I did that, again, yep the whole 4,000 sq ft.

A couple of years after that we moved to Washington. I let her and our daughter pick out the house that we bought. Shortly after we moved in, she decided that the whole house needed to be repainted. I reluctantly agreed to do that, with the stipulation that I was only going to paint it ONCE, so she better be sure of the colors she wanted for each room (of course, they all had to be different - ).

So, for the next few weeks, she had swatches of different colors of paint all over every room.

FINALLY, I said that I was only going to paint the house once and if she couldn't make up her mind within a couple of weeks, I was going to paint the whole damn house "doeskin"!

She decided, I painted - end of story.
