Pst @KAR its the first thing of the week

Id love to see an option for a 4-1 manifold to compete with PTuning's. So far no one can best them on that manifold.

What about the PTuning header is better?

You do realize Full Race is legendary for their kits, and in particular their manifolds, right?

Comparing apples to oranges here. PTuning's turbo kit retains the factory header, while Full Race's does not. The design in creating an N/A header is not applicable with the Full Race kit like PTuning's is with theirs

yes, but I am not well versed in manifolds, so I'm not sure why a 4-2-1 would be better than a 4-1 style.

I'm in no way versed in the art of exhaust design or flow dynamics. My guess would be a 4-2-1 header on a FI car would allow for a more efficient, gradual, and less turbulent merge of exhaust pulses going into the exhaust housing for better spool.

but if the 4-1 manifold were designed in a way to pulse 4-2-3-1 in some calculated order, wouldn't that be close to if not the same thing?

edit: By no means am I saying Full Race has bad manifolds; if anything they have the best. That much can be concluded just with pictures, I'm speculating purely manifold style.

The length of the runners in an exhaust manfold along with the diameter of the tube, and a few other factors that are beyond this discussion will determine a resonant frequency in the tube. At certain engine rpms this resonance will cause a low pressure area at the exhaust valve which will greatly aid in scavenging. By having a 4-2-1 design they've made it so the runner can resonate ate two frequencies, which if designed correctly will give a broader power band.

Try these for some further explaination.

This one explains header design basics.

http://www.team-integra.net/forum/bl...powerband.html

This one is about intake manifolds, but it does a good job of explaining the resonances.

again, sorry to everyone, sorry to full-race for taking a long time to get the numbers. Being on the other coast makes it a little difficult.

you checked the hose that pops under about 11 psi under the manifold right? sounds like the right one, but just making sure
