Slight pull to the left on accel, pull to the right on decel

Hi all,

Most noticeable at speeds over 80kph, I get a pull to the left on acceleration (even slight throttle, lower RPMs), and then a pull back to the right when I decelerate.

Car is 2 months old, 5500km, 2015 BRZ. Thinking of bringing it into the dealer.

Anyone had this issue before?

Bring it in, definitely not normal. Sounds like a suspension component is loose.

First thing I'd do is check the alignment.

When you say "pull back to the right when I decelerate" Do you mean you just lift the throttle or this happens under braking?

Have you done anything to the suspension? (lowering springs, etc)?
Have you ever clipped a curb? Inspect all 4 wheels for curb rash.

I would take it to an alignment shop for a check before I worry.
The dealer might send it for an alignment on their dime if they are in a good mood.

True, mine's perma-on, so that didn't occur to me. I got home and googled, most of people's reponses for other cars was check tire pressures. Bam, right rear. Tire off, found a nail. Sad day

Hi all, thanks for your responses. Solution found: turned out to be low pressure in the rear driver tire. Almost no pressure actually. TPMS was not on. No nail found yet.

same issue with my car 24k miles...

Having the same exact issue with my 2013 FRS... Took it to the Stealership and they are telling me I have a blown/leaky rear strut. I initially thought it was tire pressure but all the tires are at 34psi so that wasn't it. Dealer ordered new strut yesterday so it will take 2-3 days before it comes in. I can keep you in the loop about whether or not this solution fixes the issue.

Dealership Diagnosis

Took my FRS to the dealership and let them drive the car to feel and experience the car pulling left on acceleration and then pulling right on deceleration. They kept my car for 4 hours, drove a new FRS with manual transmission to compare. Put my car up on the rack to check everything out and found a blown right rear strut. So, they ordered a new replacement strut for it and will call me when it gets in. I'll keep you all up to speed as to whether or not this fixes the issue...
NOTE: this is the second time it's gone to the dealership for the same issue. They called me back to drive the car again...
