new R compound from Maxxis

I got a note from a contact at Maxxis today. Their R compound is almost here! and they will have a size I hope to fit on the FR-S. 255/40/17 this was probably more aimed at the S2K community, but hoping the section width isn't too big to fit in our wheel well. They offered to help test fit once my car and wheels are here.

That probably is going to be a tough fit up front with any camber set on the wheel (assuming 42mm offset 17x7). With no camber a 245/45 star spec was about a finger and a half from the strut.

Now if you don't care about scca stock class autox, then ignore the above statement and carry on :-D

they aren't readily available yet. I am sure the R6 was a benchmark for them.

As for fitting, I don't care about stock class. if I am running a coilover with a smaller spring, it should be good to go, right?

Seeing as we already have guys running 245 width tires with the stock strut on the forum, Your coil over with the correct offset 9" wheel should be no problem.
