The guys running a GT86 as their driver evaluation car only seemed to be concerned about oil temps breaking down the oil, for this reason they were changing oil every 35 track hours. Their car had about 27k on the clock and that was almost exclusively track time with mostly inexperienced drivers. The only non-OE item on the car in terms of track performance was slightly wider performance tyres. This GT86 is mostly driven by novice & inexperienced track drivers.

I have owned both cars as well. Let me tell you, riding a bicycle now, I'd take either of them, but I really regret selling my S2K, it was 2007, 50K miles, and bone stock...
damn... Great video though, really enjoyed it, and all the dry/witty comments rofl! |

Yup, fighting for tunes on multiple pulleys for the S2K ranging from 350WHP to 500WHP and finishing the aero/safety items and will probably focus on a minimal build for the BRZ next

COMPLETE side note, what would you imagine the outcome of the comparison FRS vs S2K would be if the FT86 platform came with the same level of refinement the S2K comes with.
For example changing a header/intake/intake manifold/throttle body will pick up almost no power on an S2000. Even a tune nets next to no gains. From example I bought a Js racing carbon intake, Js SPL header and Js 70rr titanium header back exhaust and after a tune gained 22WHP and 20 FT-LBS of torque. Most to be attributed to no catalytic converter. From looking at reviews of intakes/exhausts/headers for the BRZ it seems power can be had fairly cheap NA, not to the extent of a supercharger obviously but I'd imagine if you hit all of the simple boltons and a solid tune you would be inline with the power of the s2000, have more low end torque due to the nature of the motors and still weight 180? Lbs less. Put the same tires on the stock wheels side by side... May be a good comparison and would address a lot of the heat concerns too
