That should've done the trick, worked for me. Try clearing the cached data in the internal memory.

Thanks for the info. Just for my verification,

1) Antenna Adapter for Radio (https://www.amazon.com/Metra-40-LX11...&redirect=true)

2) USB adapter (https://www.amazon.com/AXXESS-AX-TOY...ords=AX-TOYUSB)

This USB adapter works for USB and AUX correct?

Also doesn't the harness that comes with this have these adapters (or at least the radio one)? The amazon listing says for BRZ/Camry/Corolla, so the harness hopefully is: https://www.carjoying.com/joying-har...ess-cable.html)

Yeah those are the right adapters, I believe the USB adapter only works for the USB plug and not the AUX for AUX to work I think you need to get the steering wheel control harness. Correct me if i'm wrong.

The harness that came with my head unit that I bought model TQ123 did not have a radio antenna adapter or USB adapter. This is the harness mine came included with the HU https://www.carjoying.com/joying-har...head-unit.html

All the app seem to be installed in the Internal storage,
And the 12 gb of Nand flash space are not in use at all.

Is there any way i can shift apps into the free space in nand flash?

When i choose the preference installing location on the top of the storage tab.

it only show 3 option

Install in Internal storage
Install in SD
Let system decide.

how can i utilize the 12gb of Nand flash that is not in use ?
Are you familiar with custom Roms and rooting Android?

There is a custom ROM for these units that make them a lot better. Including using all the memory.

There is a lot to learn before jumping into installation. Like ensuring your unit is compatible with it. If you have a lollipop unit it most likely isn't but the KitKat ones typically are supported.

This thread is huge and a lot to go through but in here should be everything you'd need to learn about it all.

Received everything today, I have a few questions about the install.

1) After re-pinning blue wire from #8 to #9, do I need to solder the blue wire on the antenna adapter to it on the FRS?

2) Do I need this harness as well for anything on FRS? https://www.amazon.com/Axxess-AX-TOY...&redirect=true

3) My Joying HU harness has no 28pin female connection, does the factory 28 pin plug into anything?
Earlier in the thread there was talk of something about the trigger wire for backup camera. Can anyone explain?

Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out what people are currently buying. I've seen links fly by for several different radios. Is this the current one people recommend?
https://www.amazon.com/Android-Lolli...android+toyota

A couple of questions.
The versions with 5.1.1 are you still putting a custom rom on it?
Anyone hook up the factory FRS backup camera to one of these yet?

Really excited to try one of these out!

Has anyone tried the double din 7" screen version. I know the fitment isn't perfect but it might be nicer to have the larger screen?

In using this at the moment.

It's the 7" universal joying with android 5.1.1 or whatever. I haven't modified it yet.
Tbh it looks very decent even though there are tiny gaps if you look side on.
It actually surprised me with its performance in sound, radio reception, mic, and responsiveness.

What dash kit did you use to install? It's hard to see if there are gaps on the side in your photo?

Anyone try this version? Any idea what the difference between it and the one above is?

I'll grab some better pics tomorrow.
Actually used the frame cover it came with but had to trim a little to make it sit nicely.
When it came to positioning of the unit it was a choice of either pushed in a little or sticking out a little.
Looked better sunk in.
I just didn't want to modify the actual car trim.

From what I can see its just a different positioning for the same buttons on that one you posted. They all seem to have the exact same processor, screen, etc.
I liked mine because it doesn't have a big ugly JOYING logo front and center. If it did I would have had to remove it or cover it.

The only thing I still want to do is get the adapter for the stock USB ports as I didn't have that so I am using the Y cable it comes with.

This has the WiFi dongle in the glove box and the other is near the OBD2 port as I chose to purchase a USB OBD2 adapter versus a Bluetooth one.

Amazingly I can't recommend this unit enough. Value for money it is hands down perfect.

I have only three little complaints

- not Toyota sizing but I'm very happy with fitment anyway.

- only has one micro sd slot which is by Standard taken with the iGO GPS software (I am going to try having the files on the unit or just put them on my 64gb music micro SD...see what happens).

- SOMETIMES if I turn the car off while listening to music on the micro SD it will remember where I was when I start again, other times it skips to a different song completely...usually one that was just played before and even though it was on random it will pay in the same order again.

First world problems...
