lack of updates, but out of the many, here's some pics of the completed subframe

any rust sanded down, shaved off extra tabs, & painted with Steel-it.
Super Pro bushings installed

Really just some superficial updates right now (alot of data collection been going on recently so not much movement in the garage)

I did pick up my wheels though
18x10.5+22, 5x114 (yes 5x114)
set of 9.5s are on order, about 10 weeks out...

I won't be doing a full rebuild with this motor because the point is to get it running so I can enjoy it while driving. Major seals will be replaced though while its in this accessible state. Figured why not clean it up a bit too? So i got into each runner / port and did some grime clean up, It'll do.

Replaced the corroded studs on the intake side.

I then installed my OMD San Diego VVT cancellation plugs (been waiting to get to this part!) These aren't just simple plugs though! These are notched to allow more oil pressure and flow for the cams. Something that should give a peace of mind when I rev the engine to 8k. Plus the subtle weight reduction is always a plus.

Got to love when your spare parts work out, I have a bunch of these VQ exhaust studs from spare motors that I have.

As of right now engine cleaning is done -aside from the valve cover, but that's on hold untill we can setup the timing

Shout out to Tommy Roberts for spending some time with me and gathering all the parts from Parts Shop Max as I request
You'll see a hint here of what's to come in the future too!

I was able to make a full set of coilovers to my spec with the new parts and my spares.

The struts have just about 20-25mm more stroke than the typical coilover that's out there for the platform.

I paired the front with a bearing spring mount and custom camber plates

Daily driving 6kg front and 4kg rear feels amazing. But with more aggressive driving it's quite soft. So as of right now I'll be using 8kg front and 6kg rear, both at 178mm spring height.

Got the subframe swapped on a sunday afternoon

5x114.3 wheel hubs

Part Shop Max diff risers

Custom coilovers

Unfortunately my Altezza Cusco LSD isn't going to work as I just found out that the Altezza comes with smaller stub axles, thus not working for my GT86. With that said I have a full Altezza pumpkin with a cusco RS LSD with stub axles for sale haha (i'll verify final gear tomorrow)

I am glad though, that I got to take off the old subframe. It gave me the opportunity to address the rust that I wasn't even aware about. Luckily it's only on the bolt side, not the chassis.

Altezza with beams comes with smaller splines (diff itself is less than the "normal" 200mm diff for IS300)

Altezza diff can be swapped into IS300 if you transfer the stub axles with it.
