Its also probaly going to be at least double the price. The whole point of the FT86 was cheap, light weight performance.

This 1 series would have been better if it was a lot lighter then the 3 series counterparts...buts its not

Definitely not a backup plan. It's going to be much more expensive then FT, FR-S, 86, whatever this thing ends up being called.
