Bumping this old thread to see if anybody can shed light on any differences to account for on a 10 series, with the LED DRLs and the projector level motor? Hesitant to bake those components but it seems others have had success.

It was probably said already but the whole bumper doesn't need to be removed. Keep the underside bolts attached and just the top section will come forward enough to gain access..

Here are some pics of what I did. I blacked out the chrome ring around the turn signal, and I blacked out the inside of the chrome reflector around the projector and turn signal. As you can see, I didn't black out the chrome that is directly around the boomerang or the chrome around the boomerang that give it depth, nor did I completely black out the chrome around the turn signal that is recessed. I didn't care for the skinny boomerang look, so that is why I chose to keep some chrome to highlight the boomerang. See pics:

Also I'm looking for the part # for the plastic clips for the bumper (since I likely will brake a few) if anyone knows what it is I would be thankful.

Any bonus advice to help avoid sagging would be super handy as well.

Are you saying the bumper doesn't need to be fully removed to take out the headlights?

Correct. The top and sides can come off without the bottom, so the bumper folds forward. This is how many congested engine bays on luxury cars get into service position.

This is really interesting. Is there a DIY guide for what can be left attached to access the lights without causing bumper sag. Im nervous about running into any sag afterwards, and if clips are left attached wouldn't they stretch or break causing some sort of sag or not tight fit?

The sag is from broken plastic tabs on the bumper. It is almost unavoidable and that area necessarily needs to be detached.

So the part that brakes is actually apart of the bumper? So I can't avoid it by buying extra plastic clips?

Correct. It is weak plastic so if you aren’t careful it breaks. Once broken you have to replace the bumper or do the quick connect fasteners.

I'm not familiar with the quick connect fasteners, is there a link to a thread or page where I can learn more about this option.
