Jdl 4 2 1 with a TRD axleback IMO is about as good as it gets. Amazing sound but that is a personal call

Here's my setup.

- JDL 4-2-1 EL
- Stock OP & FP
- Invidia R400

The true EL of the 4-2-1 runner design makes it sound more like a traditional 4-cyl - but the intake noise in the cabin that I still get with the stock intake and sound tube gives it a flat 4 touch. I like it.

I'm pretty certain its all in the front pipe, midpipe. If you got decent muffling going on in the center spots right aft the header it cuts that hollow mechanical sound down in the cabin tremendously.

I think by and large that's correct. an unresonated front pipe gets obnoxious even with the stock catback.
