At 1:10 you appear a bit off line, clipping an early apex, putting you off line for the second part of the right-left chicane. In consequence, you were then late on the power exiting the lefthander of that chicane.

But, it's so hard to tell because I don't have any sensory input, and maybe your front end was washing out from beneath you and you couldn't get on the power sooner until you were more straightened out. Still, I think a better line would reward you at that point.

Find a line that allows you to get that throttle pinned to the floor as early as possible exiting that right-left combo. That may mean just rolling quietly through the first righthander; the little time you lose in the righthander you'll more than make up for by getting out of the lefthander and onto the succeeding straight that much faster.

Besides, you'd just been passed by that Porsche on the approach to that corner, which may have thrown off your rhythm. Rhythm is important.

Overall, my impression is of two things:

(1) You seem relaxed and composed with your car under good control, and your approach was neat, tidy, and disciplined. Clean, relaxed, unhurried downshifts were evident. I'd say you have a good foundation going here.

(2) On the video it SEEMS as though you could carry more speed, but I'm at a disadvantage sitting behind my desk, not behind your wheel, so what do I know?

I'm want to see @Porsche's feedback on my driving.

Not the cleanest lap... I think there's a few seconds of improvement available.

thanks for the tips. yeah, im sure i could cary more speed, i had just come off this video below( there was an evo 10 about 2 car lengths behind me), so i was bit gun shy maybe, that was my fastest lap of the day, but some corners were less than ideal. im only on hankook v12s and when they overheat, they get greasy quick, or so is my opinion. that chicane your mentioning ive never felt good about, not one lap, lol. i either understeer or cant get the rear to grip on the exit. i see what you mean about the early apex now, throwing my exit angle off. ill focus on that section next chance i get up there.

So, @Porsche, can we play 20 questions to find out who you really are behind your keyboard?

I'll start: do you or did you race in a professional series of some sort?

I am dead certain that Porsche is Patrick Long - hopefully he'll respond!

@Porsche, you nailed it! i made the comparison of a previous lap which is almost 2 seconds slower, and i make up some time in the 100r and following hairpin, then lose it in the braking into the right left combo and on the exit, then gain it all back and then some in the final turn. @CSG Mike thats a sick video!
EDIT: how do you tag people? nevermind its working now

We need to start a poll with more outlandish guesses! I think @Porsche is Bobby Carradine lol, I read he almost became a Porsche test driver before crashing at WSIR and breaking a leg.

I thought Bobby Carradine was the Kill Bill actor who died of autoerotic asphyxiation.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Patrick Long has better things to do than post on a BRZ/FRS forum.
