We had Precious done a couple of weeks ago. Same thing, she was calm for a day or two but even on meds for the week following it didn't slow her down. She's still doing running jumps up and then high flying dives off the back of the couch.
We had hoped that getting her fixed would slow her down. Boy were we wrong.
As for attire nothing the vet had, (and they ordered in several special for Precious) fit.
We found only one pet store that anything near her size but like the one in your photo it had to be undone for her to do her business. The wife found the perfect solution. A One-sie left over from our girls. It was to have been given away but somehow stayed around until our girls had Cabbage Patch Dolls which it ended up on. It fit Precious and allowed her to go outside without having to be undone. Saved $40 or $50 right there!

The squirrels have eaten about half the green ones already ...

exactly. They eat half and leave the rest to taunt me.

The nice thing about a wiener dog's anatomy in this case is I could leave the buttflap open and the incision was still far enough up her body under the shirt she isn't able to get at it. But yeah, $35 for that special shirt... ah well.

Follow up vet visit yesterday and they said it is healing perfectly. Should be clear for full play and exercise next week!

Haha love Bassets. My wife and I always have a dog each. It’s time for her to get another, I tried my best to push towards a Basset (to join our Beagle), but no luck. Picked up this little Spaniel this week.

Caption should read: "I shall repel this cliff to save my master. Please wait until my return"

How's he doing?

When Ochi got fixed he was so drugged up, it was the only time he had an accident in the house.

Mostly okay so far.

First night neither of us slept. He couldn't get comfortable and walked around the apartment all night bumping into things with his cone.

Yesterday I think the anesthetic wore off and the actual pain med kicked in, so he slept a good chunk of the day. Last night kinda sucked because he hadn't had a poo since before, so he woke me up at 2:30am finally needing to go, and then because he's very bullheaded he made me keep picking him up and bringing him to different spots to see if he would go there. Even normally he never wants to poo anywhere near home, usually a block or two away from the apartment complex.

Other than that he seems ok, just uncomfortable. Also annoyed at me because I wouldn't let him play with his neighborhood friends that he saw yesterday and because I won't open the balcony screen door to let him nap outside like he usually does. I think it's too dusty/has bird poo and stuff for him at least for the first few days. Wish I had a tarp to put out that he could lay on instead.
