Today I learned about Alpha-Gal Syndrome, which can be caused by ticks and makes you allergic to mammal meat (which contains Alpha-Gal sugars).

My neighbor apparently got it from a tick bite last year and is still not able to eat meat from mammals.

Scary times.. I suppose the flip side is that you'll have involuntary vegetarians.. BTW, ticks only exist on your neighbour's plot?

I don't understand the question lol. No, I can certainly acquire ticks as well? My strategy is just to avoid the woods except for in winter and early spring.
