Nice to see at 1:57 in the video that you explain that the bottom bracket adjustment is intended to fine-tune the extents of the suspension movement, not "tHiS iS HoW yOu AdJuSt RiDe HeIgHt" like frequently recommended elsewhere.

Thanks. The difference here is that most folks talking about ride height adjustment there are talking about a 2 piece shock that has a hollow adapter (bottom bracket) at the bottom. The actual strut cartridge in those stops well short of the strut flange.

So with 2 piece shocks that are intrinsically too short, the owner needs to decide if they want to compromise bump or droop travel, because they can't have both. Thus the "adjust ride height here" narrative. It gets confusing, that's one reason we made the video. To highlight the benefits of our configuration. Watch the 2 piece video linked in the description to see more on that subject.

Xidas are a 1 piece full length shock with a clamp on strut flange. In our case, the shock actually extends well below the strut flange. Different beastie

Didn't see it listed on the 949 site, but do these take the >=40mm shaft diameter hit for NASA ST/TT5?

I was afraid of that Thank you

edit: wait, strut diameter is 43mm but what is the shaft diameter inside the body? Sounds like it might be legal... if so...

43mm is shaft diameter.
Strut casing is 55mm.

Who or what is this NASA rule intended to penalize?

Seems like it is some rule that has stuck around since the letter classing days, I am not sure who angered the powers that be to set it in motion. What a pain.

Yah. For some platforms, everything is inverted. For other platforms, there is nothing available that's inverted. Dumb.

We're not going to downgrade Xidas to avoid the hit though. Ironically, the original single adjustable Xidas for the NA/NB Miata were built to get around the NASA rules penalizing reservoirs and multiple adjustments. But switching to a standard small shaft strut is just too much of a functional compromise for everyone else not running NASA.

Yeah, can't blame you in the slightest there. I was really happy with the Xidas on my NB Maybe when I get a wild hair up my ass to add power and play in 4 again.

Wheels are 17x9 +48 Gen 4 6UL. We stopped making these wheels in 2017 and they are sold out. Working on Gen 5 wheels for early next year.

How close is this to stock ride height? Can these go to stock ride height?

How is clearance with the 17x9 +48 and 245/255 40 tire? Thanks!

For reference, stock ride height for 2017+ cars with showa base dampers is 155-160, PP Sachs is 150-155.

Older cars should be a little higher but I’m not sure.
