You're in good hands then! I think my car was the first 2nd gen he did.

He did a really clean job! but to be honest, I think the tire ended up shaving off a little more than he had originally done (aggressive fitment).

Yep lol! He did a friends S2000, and it’s so clean that you would have to be told it had been rolled to notice anything.

I’m still not sure if I’m going to run my wheels for certain, though. They are 18x9.5 +45 which isn’t that aggressive but I also don’t want to run camber beyond -2.0° or drop the car too low.

18x9.5 +45 is still pretty aggressive/flush in the rear! The front can definitely use a spacer if you're going for a flush look, but I'm starting to think that +45 is the ideal offset 9.5.

Don't be too scared of running ~ -2.5 camber IMO. Keep the toe in spec and the tire wear/handling characteristics should be fine. I'd go with a skinnier 255 or a 245 tire if possible though.

If a 9.5” width can only fit a 245 tire comfortably under the fenders.- wouldn’t it make sense to do an 8.5” width and save some weight? Unless some wheel designs only come in 9.5”?

What is the advantage of such a wide wheel in this scenario?

I only went this route because of the whee design. I really am not a big fan of wheels with a lip that have a flat or convex face. Flat faced wheels like AVS Model 5s, the stock wheels, Fifteen52 Tarmacs, etc. look fine with a high offset. But the issue is 5x100 is somewhat less common and most JDM wheels that fit at 8-9 width have a compromised design (in my opinion).

Likely bolt in wheel spacers.

Hello everyone. im new here. im taking delivery of my 22 BRZ in first week of March and i want to change wheels ASAP, this will be my first sports car and first car without OEM spec wheels/tires. i know there is alot of info in the last 25 pages but thats alot to read. can someone please tell me if i get 18x8 ET40 with 225/40 tires for front and 18x9 ET40 235/40 tires for the rear on stock suspensions will i run into any rubbing issues? please and thank you for the reply.

Alrighty folks. Time for some photos of bad fitment for the sake of education (and I thought it was worth seeing how this style of wheel looked on the new generation BRZ.)

These are Wedssport TC105N 17x9 ET35 with Yokohama AD08R 245/40R17 at stock ride height. It seems like there wouldn't be any rubbing at maximum compression, but the poke looks terrible.

The last photo is the clearance for the front shock.

There is no reason to go staggered on these cars. Especially because it negates the ability to rotate tires and extend their life.

As for there being "a lot of read" that's how you learn things. Reading the experience of others who have shared it.

Got my new wheels on so figured I would share.

18x8.5 +45 Wedsport SA77R with the oem 215/45 Michelin PS4. OEM suspension/alignment.

Will likely go with max height on KW V3s so around a .8" drop from what I have read. Will post updated pics in a few weeks when those go on hopefully.
