WARHAMMER 40K

Any other fans of the 40k universe in here? I got into it during my second deployment, my platoon sgt had brought some novels along that I borrowed for abit.
I've played the games (Dawn of War 1 and 2 and all the expacs, and Space Marine on xbox) but my true addiction are the novels. Horus Heresy mostly although I love almost all well-written examples. Just finished reading Talon of Horus. Amazing insights in there.

Favorite author right now is Aaron Dembski-Bowden, and a close second would be Dan Abnett, followed by Graham McNeil.

I've always had an interest in the table-top game, but the cost proved prohibitively expensive to indulge in, as I barely have time for car and other hobbies.

Pic definitely related

I enjoy the warhammer and the 40k series.

Deeply enjoyed the warhammer MMO. The novels.... Never really grabbed me. The writing style and storytelling bored me.

Detail is great, but I felt most of them went into too much detail. You know, the beating the dead horse thing.

Kind of like Yeah... Its dark, I get it. Now whats in the next room?!

An excellent novel to ease one into the 40K universe is Brothers of the Snake by Dan Abnett. Such a good read. Not too long of a novel either.

I have about 4k$ into the table top game. I used to play just about every weekend for about 7 years. Then one day I got laid and pretty much quit.

Lol that was only part of it. My group broke up when my friend moved. Our group was never the same again. And I have found it harder and harder to find the patience to paint my guys.

It was great while it lasted. My friend had a huge custom made table. We would sometimes play with 6 people and a single game could last 3 days.
The real craziness came when we tried to play, Battleflet Gothic, Epic 40k and 40k as one huge game.

Crazy. I've seen some battles on YouTube, definitely up my alley seems like.

My wife was initially okay with it as her friends have husbands that play... but they aren't car guys and my wife was like okay you already have one money sink lol

I'm assuming that was custom made? Looks good.

Yup it's a flossy shift knob, was thinking of getting another in block with the Aquila and 86 logo in red but swapped around

I was so sad when I learned dark millenium was killed.
If I ever won the lottery I would pay to have it made.

I've always been interested in Warhammer 40k, loved all of the games and have them all on steam. Definitely have spent a couple hours on the wiki reading about everything
