For example, Daily Driver mentioned the AT gets two sound settings for the piped in engine noise (loud and not so loud) while the MT only get loud. Neither has the option for off. Time to pull some speaker wires....

So there might be truth to it.

I guess Eyesight comes as an all or nothing system. You either get all the safety systems, even the ones that doesnt really work with an MT equipped car, or get nothing at all.

I’m really curious about this as well. In Subaru’s details they stated that BSM is on the limited. Curious if this is the same on the GR86 (I’d assume it would be). Also wondering about parking sensors since there have been some base GR86’s with them in the rear bumper and some without.

Wait..you mean that, in addition to the stupid sound tube (if it's still there?),they are now also using one or more speakers to make synthetic engine sounds?!? If so... Much hate. Very disappoint. Would preferably great the cabin moar quiet than car before. Can vanquish hatred noise ezily?

And.. re/ BSM, adaptive cc, and other gizmos, I'd personally prefer a car with as little of that stuff as possible.. it's one of the many things I like about ny '13 frs. Ideally, engine, mt, suspension, steering brakes, and some seats... And hand crank windows. Is the base model comparably stripped to the '13 models?

Eyesight requires an automatic transmission for it's functions. I don't believe Subaru provides those safety functions on any of their AT cars, do they?

This isn't unusual. For example Cadillac will sell the CT5-V Blackwing with a manual transmission but if you want Super Cruise you have to have the AT.

I'm going off the one review, but it appears they've replaced the sound tube with speaker noise. Don't know if its generated or just amplified engine compartment noise.

The BRZ autos and looks like the GR86 autos are getting the eyesight features. The BSM and RCTA appear to be divorced from that(on these models at least).

Agreed - Subaru requires an automatic for Eyesight. I don’t think BSM/parking sensors are considered a part of the “Eyesight system” although it is likely they could be grouped together as a package for the Limited/Premium trims. I’m just curious as there have been base models with the parking sensors in the rear bumper at the driving event.

I mean most of not all will give a positive review just so they keep getting invited to these driving events.

But the reviews towards it are negative? Did they have a focus group of 17-year-olds?

Posting my review because shameless self-promotion. Also, mine is less of a review, more of a mini-doc.
