Correct. Just like the process described on this thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17020

You should read the whole thing if interested in using this cam. This specific post #157 has added pictures:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=157

Regarding the harness I used the PAC CAM-TY11 harness from amazon. I also gave feedback on it on post #316 of the same thread:

I bought this one and installed it today. I have absolutely no experience with stuff like this, nor with running wires and found it very straight toward and easy. I had an issue feeding a cable at first, but realized I was feeding the wrong cable..
It's pricey, but I like it. My only issue is that it points down only, you can't see anything above

I just installed this camera

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Camera-Chuanganzhuo-Universal-Normal-Reverse/dp/B00RD05MOO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui _detailpage_o01_s00"]Amazon.com: Front View Camera,Chuanganzhuo Universal Normal Image Car Reverse Backup Rear/Front View Camera For All Car,Black: Car Electronics[/ame]

and the autoharness house harness last weekend.

The camera picture quality is surprisingly good. You can also disable the lines built into the camera. Install took about 2-3 hours. The most time consuming process was guiding the camera cables through the rubber grommets and parts of the trunk (use coat hanger).

The whole setup cost me about $50.

I've been wanting to put a camera in the BRZ and I think this thread just settled it! I'll do some more research based on this thread!

Yes. I've been looking for the best backup camera to use for my BRZ, and there seems to be a lot of good things to say about the Rydeen Duo. I just need to make sure I get the right harness and instructions to put the camera in and I'm set. It looks like these two things (camera and harness) should work for the car:

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Rydeen-RYD-ZH07150B-NightVision-Technology/dp/B00GQTYG3Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460647628&sr=8-1&keywords=rydeen+duo"]Amazon.com : Rydeen RYD ZH07150B Universal Mini Camera, CMOS III NightVision Technology : Point And Shoot Digital Cameras : Camera & Photo[/ame]

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/PAC-CAM-TY11-Reverse-Camera-Harness/dp/B00KWLA3T0/ref=pd_bxgy_421_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0YW2R1R6JH7R5 G8HD57F"]Amazon.com: PAC CAM-TY11 Reverse Camera Harness: Car Electronics[/ame]

I'm a little confused, though. On the Rydeen website they have a lot of different models of cameras and I can't really tell the difference.

After doing research, it looks like the Rydeen Duo is 'old hat'. Are there any cameras that are newer that are just as good?

what do you mean old hat? i mean besides the obvious that its not something that came out recently..everything else I've seen is just an asia no brand knock off unless you get the beat sonic camera, but from what I've read the rydeen is better

Well, a couple of things:

a) Since it has been out a while, is there anything that's better than the Rydeen that's come out since?

b) Since the Rydeen has been out on the market a while now, I'm more concerned about getting a knock-off. It looks like the only 'known-legit' place that still sells it is als-eds.

Im actually looking at this camera right now, its fairly cheap compared to the rydeen. And being in canada, rydeen will be alot expensive.

Can I use the harness from either the pac ones or the other harness?

How is the camera? I don't really want to pay hundreds of dollars for a backup camera. Is it durable? (heavy rain, strong winds, high pressure car wash?)

Also, which harness did you buy?

EDIT: Wow, it doesn't ship to where I live, Canada.

Anyone know if this is any good?
