Clutch Pedal "Clicking" Noise on new BRZ

Hey guys, I tried searching for this specifically in the forum, but can't find anything that seems to match up perfectly.

Essentially my clutch pedal has started making a click when I press and release it, very close to the top of the travel (does it every single time); I want to say about 2mm after pressing it. I thought it could be the spring or something in the mechanism needing to break in, but it hasn't resolved itself. (The car has ~3k miles) It's an audible mechanical click-- I don't think it should be there but I doubt it's a serious issue either...

Obviously I could take it in to the dealer and have them take a look, but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue so that I'd have a better idea of what to tell the shop if I end up taking it in.

Mine does the same. I think it didn't do it when it was new, but perhaps I haven't noticed it. Now I have 8000 km.

The last couple mm at the top of the pedal travel don't actually engage the clutch, just fyi. When you pull the clutch spring out there's some slack there because the spring actually pushes against you at the top of the travel. It's probably because the spring is pushing and it's hitting against something, like the clutch sensor switch. Maybe try adjusting that upwards? Maybe get down and get your head in there and figure out where the click is coming from.

I'd check, if clutch sensor is adjusted right, for pedal at top of travel to just press sensor's tip, not hitting against it's threaded body.
Or you are speaking about very other end of travel of clutch pedal fully pressed?

Same noise on my '15. Several slight clicks just at the pedal is coming to rest at the top of its travel. I'm haven't looked terrible closely, but my bet at this point is it's the "helper" spring binding slightly on its post. At the moment, I'm choosing not to be concerned about it.

Thanks for the replies, I got my head in there yesterday and I think it's something to do with the spring. Seems like just as the helper spring starts "working" it makes that click noise if that makes sense. I'd say I'm probably 90% sure it's not an issue though-- might still ask the dealer what's up.

I still think it's weird that a new car is making some odd noises, but the BRZ definitely has it's share of funky sounds and rattles. My VW before this car never made as many seemingly random noises, even when it was 10 years old

Yeah, unfortunately for car to be cheap .. it has to be built cheap . You get unexpectedly good handling/driving fun for the price .. but something needed to be sacrificed. In twins case - practicality and compromised comfort. Cheap rattling interior, little of sound insulation. Later can be justified to oneself with weight savings though . Still, when weighting out pros & cons i find twins to be exceptionally drawn compromise for it as overall package. Not that much is sacrificed relative to how much is gained, and i still like mine a lot even after 4+ years of owning it.
