Also note that Al Futtaim issued a notice to the service department that the service interval has been updated from 5000km to 7500km. I confirmed this with service rep and the service manager at the Al Badia service center

Jumping from 5000 to 7500 is a good call but aed 900 for a service is stupid... like i said a camaro costs less to routinely service than an 86.... what about the brz btw?

I am due for my service today at 7 am. Booked an appointment last week, found out about the rate the day I posted here with almost 1000dhs price tag.
@ROJ you're missing the 85dhs buddy. It's only 15 short, better call it a thousand than 900. I can't park my car till this oil and filter change is narrowed to something decent price wise so I'm just gonna bite the bullet. It's my daily driver after all. Funny thing is, I had this car for only 6 months and I'm already planning to exchange it with a Mustang or a Camaro. Heard their oil change is cheaper. You listening Toyota? Hah, who am i kidding. Bet Porsches are cheaper to maintain. Edit: I'll let you guys know if there is a service plan that may be cheaper in the long run, in case some of you still want to keep this car for more than 20,000km. I know I'll be disposing mine before the next oil change if Toyota keeps on with this bull.

Took my car for service today. Here are the costs !
7500km - aed985 15000km - aed1200 22500km - aed985 30000km - aed1750 60000km - aed 1950 It is unbelievable ! I asked for a service contract and managed the old pricing still. Aed3450 for 30000km service contract. Aed7450 for 60000km if anyone is interested. I am also really pissed off as I was told the first 2 services are covered - 1k and 5k which is not the case. Only 1k is covered. |

Note to those wishing to keep this car forever, the 90,000km service will be around AED3000+ IIRC. I'm on the fence about paying for the services or rather selling the car for another brand. But surely, there will be new prices announced soon for the contracts and hopefully reasonable. If I get a call regarding that , will update this page. @professor you reminded me of one of the best roads I've driven in Middle East. That was with my family car though. Now I have 2500km to kill, I don't see why I shouldn't take a trip soon. Next weekend is 3 days. I might as well.

Here's some math:
The Chevrolet Camaro servicing costs AED 500 every 10,000km. Up until the major service arises which is AED 5K as far as I recall. Hence you will spend some AED 1000-2000 a year on servicing a Camaro (20K-30K mileage) at Bin Hamoodah.. If I got the service chart, I will scan it and post it for you guys.. A major service costing AED 3-5k is expect-able but its a one time fee.. The service intervals on a BRZ as far as a sales rep there told me: are every 5000km and they cost: AED 250, AED 500, AED 250, AED 500, AED 250 and so on for every 5K as far as the sales rep claims.. Hence you will spend some AED 1500-2250 for the BRZ (20K-30K mileage) . (Will need to confirm these figures on paper, I got this info on the phone). How worse Subaru dealers be? probably on par with al futtaim's quality.. Those above numbers sound very reasonable.. Now, you tell me al futtaim are charging Porsche money for a Toyota? (AED 3000+ per year?). Heck I wanted to buy this car because I want an enjoyable ride for as little money as possible. Might as well wait a bit more to get a sports car worth the value.. It would be valuable if somebody clarifies this situation and I will be happy to blog a report regarding the concern to give a heads up for other 86 owners..
