It has to be done at some point anyway. It'll be easier in the future if it's taken apart and anti-seized while everything is still new. The shop manual procedure calls for removal of exhaust components and even the exhaust manifold. As unpleasant as it is, it will be much better in the future if thes parts get the same treatment.
A little pain early on is better than than a lot of pain from stuck or broken bolts later on. I keep my cars for a long time and I do my own work once the warranty expires, so I try to make it easy on myself. |
