Wheels curb rash

Hey everyone! So I hit some pothole the other night and my wheel got some damage after that. What would be a good solution of repairing it? It's a ambit sr81 with mate gunmetal pain. Thanks for any help.

Wheels curb rash

Good video on the basic process:

You’d be painting just a section of the wheel, so you have to find a paint that’s close. Check your local parts store for wheel paint, the duplicolor/VHT colors are very close to a lot of popular gunmetal wheels. Good luck!

Sanding it with a rotary and finding paint that is close enough like @Yoshoobaroo said is what I've done in the past. Obviously you also want to mask things off well too to make sure you're not getting paint on the brakes, body, or tire. This has been good enough for my in the past where you can't really tell there is damage unless you're less than a foot away from the wheel and looking for it.

or, you could just take the wheel off the car, and eliminate half the hassle of masking everything off but the tire

Yeah i was thinking to do that. And also i was thinking instead of painting the whole wheel i maybe can just paint the outer edge of the wheel where is the damage only.

only if you can get matched paint. otherwise it'll always look 'off'
