From the link above my post:

The interior features several unique elements including tan and black Alcantara seats and a black sliding armrest with tan trim and black stitching.
Anybody have any idea what that armrest is?

From the pics looks like the same one as the RS2.0 armrest.

It's the OEM PT478-18130 sliding armrest in tan/black.

I like it, especially the choice of gold wheels and tan interior.
Is that a metallic green? Correct me if I'm wrong, which these days is frequent, but the old British racing green color was not metallic.

Looks like a pearl coat. The colour is a homage to not an exact replica. The old green enamel used to fade very quickly so the pearl will look better for longer.

True. The older BRG was a flat enamel type paint. Even when my BRG MG was new and freshly waxed, it looked sort of faded.

This version of BRG looks like it has a bit more depth and luster to it - a nice variation. -

Now, now humfrz, there ain't nutten wrong with your white 2013 FR-S (cept maybe some weak valve springs). Besides, that BRG would show dirt in the PNW much more that your white car. Besides, unless you have cash for the difference in a trade in, your fixed income can't afford a car payment.

(but, hey, humfrz, that car would look perty parked in your garage - you have one more sports car left in you - )

Can't wait to see it live. From available pics that may have been processed, I can't tell if it's closer to authentic BRG or something else.

That being said, I hope it's not the final special edition, because that honor should be given to a new 86 BLACK LIMITED.
The TRD 86 is black, and has all the performance upgrade?

Loved the British Racing Green when announced, sadden when said it was for Japan only. But Everything has changed!!! Thank you TOYOTA USA!!!! No Brembos? no Sachs? No issues for me!!!! My 2017 Ablaze AT lease ends this year(got it DEC 2016) and buying a MT Hakone! Will be transferring my Cusco Coilovers and W6 pads with DBA Rotors(on trackdays)!

It really is strange that they'd bring this over without the suspension upgrades. It does look fantastic, but it makes it a little less special imo.

Agree, the lack of content compared to a TRD is disappointing but they make no claim that it's a special edition, just a "limited edition" of ??? cars.

After driving a TRD on a short demo, I thought the Sachs, Brembos, Exhaust v.2.0, and PS4's made a balanced package worth the cost, especially this month with huge cashback incentives. By the time the 2020 Hakone arrives, it's likely that leftover 2019 TRD's will be available for less, especially in the dead of winter.

IMO the Hakone was decontented from the JDM model after coordinating with Subaru to not dilute sales of their PP models in their biggest market.

I just hope it does not get a white engine bay like the orange 860! I can deal with a black engine bay.

Toyota special editions seem to be paint and body with the exception of the TRD.

Toyota needs to make a damn PP option like Subaru. If I had to guess there must be some silly agreement between the two manufacturers stopping Toyota from carrying the option
