No big mystery here. The 860 comes in white or orange. They oviously just do the base white and then respray the orange on top. Be cheaper for them to do that. Look on the bright side you probably have more paint on the car than normal. At least it isn't the brown that the Lava is without the pearl coat.

Yep. The ATs did not get the new intake system. All the UK ones of course still have the old system.

So its heavier than the white therefore slower... I suppose it gives the driver more time to enjoy the orange colour and then ponder why its only a white car masquerading as an orange thing....

The spare wheel well is orange, but if you look up inside the trunk at the area underneath the rear window, you can see the white color showing through the orange overspray....

Yes--completely orange, with no white showing anywhere.

For all intents and purposes it is a factory made custom car. They will paint all the surfaces that are normally seen but not the rest. It isn't a mistake or quality issue it was done deliberately for what ever reason made sense to them. Don't sweat it. Be fun to show off actually.

Did some digging and have another plausible theory. All the pictures I could find show the white engine bay with some pretty jagged overspray from the orange.
Due to the very small number of these made for thr US market only I will bet that they all came out of the factory white and were resprayed either off site or possibly even at port when received here. There is no way that over spray is a factory applied finish.

LOL that name could be easily misconstrued though.

I have always said you can't plan a name for a car or pets but you just have to wait for them to name themselves.

To my uneducated mind that makes pretty good sense, especially when you consider that they also made Halo 860's. So maybe just all of them were made as Halo off the line and then like you said they were resprayed elsewhere.

Would be easier at the factory production level (my guess) to just make a number of one specific color.

but the overspray looks like it's down there pretty deep, and the engine bits are all clean - to me it looks like it was painted before the engine was in, so it'd have to be at the factory
