That’s not the problem, it seems the homelink portion of the mirror isn’t getting power at all. I’m starting to think they didn’t spec the patch harness correctly.

No joy on the mirror. They're ordering a replacement for that and the windshield.

Hmm, I don't use the home link mirror, but i see what you guys are talking about. The garage door buttons are all dead and do nothing when pressed or holding them down on my car. No lights show up anywhere.

I'll have to poke around with the mirror while waiting for a replacement.

Is the dealer replacing your windshield no questions asked and under warranty?

The tech sat in the car and didn't see it. They got somebody taller to sit and as soon as he sat down said there it is. I was seeing double rear lights on some cars this morning.

The harness coming out of the mirror has only 3 pins. Guessing +12v, switched 12v and gnd. The end heading into the mirror is not accessible without splitting the mirror case. I don't want to destroy the mirror before getting the warranty replacement, but are there any guides on disassembly?

none that i'm aware of.

i can say that 20-25 years ago, the gentex auto-dimming mirrors that were the identical profile but with integral dome light(chrysler, mitsubishi, and GM products), were glued/sonically welded shut.

i don't believe there's a way to open them in a way that would allow them to be re-assembled outside of a dremel and black epoxy.

Don't go grinding everything out. Its a limited run issue and your dealer should be able to get you set up.

Just checked my mirror after getting home from the dealer today. Looks like it works, the orange light came on within a second or two of pressing it, and it paired in a few seconds as well.

I haven't gotten word that they have my mirror in yet, but they may be holding it until my windshield gets done next week.

ETA - Going to see if they let me keep the defective mirror so I can do some investigation.
