What’s cosmetic to your car may be functional to another. Rules are written as a whole, not usually for specifics

Unless your competing nationally and more on the pointy end, no one will care. (Or shouldn’t care)

Hell. Some clown had loovers and “aero” bits on a SSC car at Lincoln this year. No clue why no one didn’t protest that one, at-least for the very reason it was hideous LOL

I've Never done a national event, but I'm pretty competitive Regionally. I actually picked this car so I could get into SCCA time trials, and of course still autocross. I'm a little upset over conflicting info I've been given, but I guess it doesn't really matter until I podium at Nationals.

Hopefully you're not solely following what is being provided her for info. If you're serious about being competitive, you need to get something in writing from SCCA directly

What's the conflicting info? I've been autocrossing nationally since 2007 and have a pretty good handle on both the rules as well as the port vs. dealer accessory situation on the new BRZ. The rules clearly state dealer installed accessories must be listed in the appendix to be legal, and your order sheet lists the STI lip kit as dealer installed.

We'll you're already burned with TT then. They said they will burry the car in S3. The Dictatorship in TT drives me nuts

The rule is literally right there. trippinbillies has been around the SCCA for a lot longer than most folks here, he knows his shit.

The STI aero parts aren't legal until there's a US spec car with them out of the factory like the series blue. The end.

As long as he is writing the rules, that's great just a general advisory, nothing to get defensive over

Not writing the rules here, not on the SAC or STAC. But, Docwalt and I just dont want to see anyone get protested and lose a jacket over something trivial like an OEM splitter that technically isn't legal. No hard feelings either way. If you want to run it, please do so. I won't protest. More than anything my comments were just a heads up that if you do well at a national event, others likely will. Cheers!

Dunno where to post. Guess it's most related to parts catalogue cos you can kinda see what's the same and what's diff between the gen1 and new gen.

digging through the owner's manual, i think i found the FCC ID for the TPMS transmitter and based on a google search of it, i think it's going to be a 315mhz sensor, like the first gen.

for whatever reason they have a different part number though.

Curious if the wheels with 1st gen sensors will "just work".

For those who plan to replace the front suspension knuckles, I've found a post on minkara.carview, where they already swapped the aluminium versions onto a 1st gen BRZ/86:

https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid...4954/note.aspx

This is definitely something I plan to do on my GT86 during the "winter sleep"

Further reduction (1.5kg per side) of unsprung mass...yes please
