I had my FRS for 14 months now...
So now I have a twin turbo BMW 335i that I hardly drive anymore..
Even when I take a longish trip, I prefer to drive the FRS. I thought I would grow past this after some time.. but I have hardly driven the BMW in months.. Its even equipped with a manual so it would be more fun to drive.. but it still feels heavy and dull in comparison. its fast and comfy with all the techno crap.. and its very capable.. but it doesnt compare to the overall fun of the FRS. I picked my son up at the airport last week.. He barely managed to get his luggage in the trunk.. He got in and said why didnt you bring the bimmer? I just smiled and said "i'm having too much fun in this". He shakes his head and doesnt understand why I would choose to drive the FRS over the 335i.. I told him to take my car for a week and then he will understand... I love my FRS ! BMW 335i TT |

That's a nice pair of cars you've got there. Any mods on the 335i? Maybe time to give it a tune to re-kindle the love.

I know how you feel. I sold my 3 coupe and got an FRS and none of my friends could understand why since it's considered a "downgrade" in their eyes. They don't understand how much fun the FRS is to drive!

Awesome thread. There really is something special about the FR-S/BRZ, and I think your thread sums it up. The sum of all the parts just results in such a fun car to drive.

I sold my Porsche 928S after my first month of FRS ownership. It felt like a heavy tank after using the FRS for my daily driver.

How long does it take to walk the length of that garage.
As good as the FR-S is, please don't make that mistake. The supra is a legend, still the best car Toyota has ever made. IMO even better than the LFA. |

This is exactly what this car was designed for, to turn convention on it's head. This is one light, nimble package.
And I second the "don't sell a TT MKIV, it's a legend." |

The FR-S is indeed something special, but I would probably take a 335 for a long boring drive haha. Actually the plan here is to get a 328/325 or Audi A3 hatch once the FR-S is paid off so I can have a 4 door car as well. The FR-S will still be my daily, but I have wanted for extra space a few times, and I have a soft spot for Bavarian machinery.
Is the 335 a 4 door or 2? If it is a 2 door I'd say sell it, you have 2 cars for the same exact purpose, only one is newer, cheaper to run, and better to look at. |
