Caring and arguing do not always go hand in hand.

Thats why i liked the dual HVAC knobs. Its still plasticky but less cheap feeling, but it made the icentre stack look a helluva lot better.

The 2nd gen knobs are still plasticky but they're big and they have a satisfyingly clickiness to its rotation giving it a more solid/sturdy feel to them.

But i must agree on the "everything is controlled by the ipad" situation that is taking over the car world. Its a horrible design decision. I had a honda fit with touch volume controls and it was a laggy POS. I hated it.

Hell even the touchscreen infotainment in the 2020 Head unit annoys me. Its especially irritating when the touch slider is used to scroll through the alphabet for quick search...and i can never hold it in place long enough to stay at a letter without having to take my eyes off the road.
When we ordered the wife's 22 Ascent it took so long to get there was a real probability of ending up with a 23. I thought that was cool at first since it had a few upgrades.
Then I saw this thing:

Notice the bottom of that screen? Yes, those are the HVAC controls. Not a knob or lever to be seen. Just touch sliders and you have to scroll through screens for most settings.

Are you saying that we have all received virtual teabags?

as punishment for owning a first gen?

Or is it meant for the second genners?

Then I realized I'm fat and old and didn't want to deal with that type of project.

100% disagree.

I could have easily afforded a Mach 1 Mustang with the handling a pack, IE a car twice the price of a BRZ Limited. But I thought it was stupid to have a car that wouldn't be driven much and and rarely if ever taken to the track at that price.

I've had my '23 BRZ for 2.5 months now, I still haven't cracked 500 miles yet.

Some of us don't stretch ourselves to the limit of what we can "afford."

Well at least you understood it was a joke and not a mortal insult somehow!

I think he meant taking money right out of the equation not just if a person could afford it or not.

But...but that's taking money into consideration.

In other words, what @Tcoat said.

The screen controlled HVAC is pretty fkn terrible.
That is actually an improvement over the 2020 version which burried the vent speed in a SUBMENU.

You had to click on the vent speed then adjust it. I thought all the nannies were stupid until lane assist kicked in while I was trying to adjust the damn HVAC.
Then I realized they are coming up with solutions to problems they're creating.
