Reasons to stay gen 1:

1) You've spent the time and money getting it right, overcoming the power/torque deficit, and now have something very well sorted. You're keen to pull up to the lights next to a gen 2 and keep it honest/blow its doors off

2) You picked the right spec to begin with, and you'd likely never find another one quite like it.

3) The gen 2 looks better with uprated wheels which come with higher grip tyres, and you prefer the playfulness of lower grip tyres and don't mind the stock rims - the old car doesn't look quite so bad on stockers

4) You have a feeling the old car will have a more playful attititude/approachable limits to be enjoyed as a daily driver/daily drifter

5) You hold onto your cars for a longer cycle, and/or own your car outright & prefer to avoid debt.

6) You prefer vintage gear, and don't like being seen in anything too new.

7) You've always preferred zenkis to koukis, and gen 1s to gen 2s.

8) You were pretty caught up in following the release of the original car, collected all the mags and brochures, and have a strong soft spot for them.

9) Your 2014 is still the newest car you've ever owned

10) You're waiting for the day when you have unlimited shed space and can keep both

You think?

Chris Squire

Jaco Pastorius

Ray Shulman

it's actually the guitarists birthday today and on this day in 1877 Edison revealed the phonograph to the public.

I saw a blue brz yesterday at a dealership in delray beach. For me, it didn't grab my attention the way the first gen did but most sequels have big shoes to fill. Imo the drivetrain is night and day compared to stock first gen and that is what's talking to my checking account right now. I'm actually afraid to test drive one at the moment

i'm still curious to test drive one once the hubbub dies down.

mostly to debate with myself if the @Opie 2.4 conversion is worth the project.

When you work out the kinks, I will be up for the swap as well.
