Just purchased a set of clear toms and first thing i noticed was the logo. They no longer have that etched in look but they are just clear. I purchased them from fteightysix so i dont suspect replica (if they even exist). I was waiting on purchasing toms due to the fact they had melting problems in the past and supposably toms had fixed the problem months back. this would be a good indicator to know if you got a newer version or not. then again there could just be something wrong with my pair and none of this matters

I just got mine last week, once I get out to my car I will check what logo I have. I bought from ft86speedfactory though and I got the reds.

Okay quick update. 4 days into having them on they have melted on both sides on the known spot. The new logo is nothing more than a new logo.

How do LED's melt/cause melting? I'm thinking wiring incompatibility/resistor??

Not the leds. The inside of the housing melts because of the heat from the sun.

Hmmm, that's not good. Is the clear part of the lens focusing the sun into a beam or something? (Like a magnifying glass?)

Things have started to heat back up in Sydney so Im worried new problems are gonna start cropping up since Ive only had mine for 6 months (already noticing bird poo + strong sun/heat = baked in stains

if you lasted 6 months youre fine. The red version dont have this problem. Im guessing what the guy above said is right. the clear housing is giving off this magnifying effect to burn the small holes. Im not too worries becuase this problem has always existed but i still want new pair so im going through warranty. if toms truly did fix it they must have good pairs

I guess the point is that in Sydney/Australia we're coming out of winter into summer, so if they're gonna melt, it's gonna happen anytime soon.

I've already had to deal with a vinyl wrap issue that's heat related

I received mine yesterday (JDM red's) and they appear to have the etched logo. It sucks to hear that yours have failed so soon. I would have gone for the clears as well if not for the notorious issues.
Interestingly when I was enquiring with the place that imported them for me they said that the clears had gone out of production all together.

People usually have the melted holes appear in 2 days haha. I guess its a visual issue because it hasnt affected led issues for other people. I hope they havent stopped production.
