Its set to F, I changed it to C just to see what would happen and it was in the high 180s. Way above operating temperature

Use the settings for setting up the sensor as described in the first/second post - this reads in the raw data in C - then change the units in torque to F and it will convert for you. Values should range from 180 - 210 depending on how warmed up the car is.

The equation should be AC-40, not AF-40.

To switch vaules from Celcius to Ferhinieht the app has to convrert it unless you make a custom PID to adjust. Torque won't change the value until that gauge\value is pulled from ECU again.

Still no update on PID for IAM or Knock Count?

I ordered on of these based on your review, and I works great but now I have a ring on my dash after only two days of having it mounted

Can't avoid the ring - that's how you get a good seal. Might just be a bit of glue residue, try a bit of surface cleaner.

Without further delay, here's the info:
OBD2 Mode and PID: 2101
Minimum Value: -40
Maximum Value: 215 (this is just the maximum that this location can support, which does not mean the sensor can read that high)
Scale factor: x1
Unit type: C
Equation: AC-40 (no space between A and C; "AC" is the location within the response)
OBD Header: 7E0 (Auto also works, but seems to take longer)

Just as an aside, I don't know if it's my OBD adapter, or the Header needs to be tweaked (corrected), or if the response is not always long enough but every once in a while I'll get a reading of 189 or 1840 which are both incorrect. I'm not familiar enough with torque to figure out where these glitches are coming from.

Edit: The incorrect readings of 189 and 1840 I was getting were caused by a faulty OBD adapter. Just received another one and have no problems.

Enjoy!

Andrey
How'd you find it? I ask because i have an obd II project I'm starting to work on.

I'm having trouble decoding the 4 digit torque PID with an actual PID. Does 2101 mean mode 2 0x65?

If so, how many bytes does it return and which are you multiplying together and then subtracting 40 from to get the temp?

Check out www.gt86mounts.com

As far as the knock pid is concerned. I have someone who knows a lot about can bus and searching for PID's. The problem is he lives two hours away from me. Start a list of PID's that you would like and the next time I see him we are going to start working on it. Right now I want IAM and knock correction. It could be a fee weeks before I get them but it's something I have been wanting for a long time. I just so happened to meet the right person recently.

I wiped it down with some 1Z deep cleaner, it appears to be the slightly squishy dash being compressed. I had to drop it off at the dealer to get some chips fixed after some asshat sprayed me with gravel, have to see how it looks next week.

Sorry for the late follow-up. I had used that mount for a few weeks and took it off. The ring leaves a residue that only lasts a couple days and then goes away after cleaning. However since then I stopped using my tablet and started using my phone using this mount:

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Tetrax-72028-Smartphone-Magnetic-Dashboard/dp/B0064SY1T8"]Amazon.com: Tetrax 72028 FIXWAY Smartphone/iPhone/GPS Magnetic Holder, Dashboard Mount: Automotive[/ame]

I find this a lot easier to use but keep in mind that its probably not strong enough to mount a full sized tablet.

OK so it still will not connect to my ECU. It just tries the says "can not connect to ECU possible faulty adapter or ignition not switched on". The adapter works fine in my other cars and the car is running while I'm attempting to connect so the ignition is on. Could it be something to do with ecutek not allowing it access?

I used the code for the engine oil temp and for some reason when I use this custom PID, it works for about a minute, then can't locate the Blutooth anymore. When I don't have this custom PID, it works fine.

IAM is available in my datalogs:
http://datazap.me/u/stugray/za1ja00c...?log=0&data=41

The PIDs will be different for the various ROMs in our cars.
It is best to lookup the logcfg.txt for the tactrix datalogging for your individual ROM.

As for finding a direct knock counter that would be great.
The engine has two knock sensors. One on each head.
Maybe you could rig a buzzer or something to each of them and then log data while toggling the buzzer on and off. If there is a counter, you should see it incrementing in synch with the buzzer being on.
