I made my 86 feel much faster.

I purchased a Tacoma TRD Pro last week.

278 HP never felt so boring, the 86 is an absolute rocket in comparison.

Thanks, we'll see how it sticks. The last time I tried a (new) 02 Tacoma I had it less than two years. A transmission that could not make up its mind and a tailgate that could not withstand a lightweight dirtbike, were its downfall.

My old truck, now a winter beater with 200K was bought new in the fall of 2005, it has been flawless. Silverado Duramax/Allison

I just don't need a truck that big anymore.

Sad part is the Tacoma was more expensive than the Silverado was 14 years ago, and gets worse MPG.

When I bought the Chevy diesel fuel had been .50 cents a gallon cheaper than gas for a decade. almost immediately it flipped, and has been .50-1.00 more per gallon ever since.

I went to buy a TRD Off-Road, but there were a few things I was going to change on it. In the end they gave me a stupid price on the Pro. I'm happy.

Wow really? My dad bought his 03 manual Tacoma new and has had it since with only minor issues. I guess that’s why I love those trucks since I grew up riding in one with my dad. No bs he actually just bought an 02 automatic Tacoma for himself but think I really want to drive it when it rains or whatever instead of the BRZ lol He really wants to get into a 2018 so we’ll see but it’s definitely a truck I’d like to own one day.

86 doesn't go where Tacoma goes,
Tacoma is not fun, of course,
where 86 goes.

How is my poem?
BTW, congrats and enjoy!

I have a 5000lbs Ram 1500, but with a V8, 4WD, LSD, and 3.92 rear, it's actually faster than the FRS, or at least it feels that way.

Except in the corners.

Heck, my 3.5 twin turbo Transit work van is just about as fast as my 86 in a straight line.

But in reality the 86 is magic in corners. Amost nothing else compares, it's pure.

Fasinating what some parts bin special and time can do.

I have an SUV as well but I would never say it feels slow compared to the 86..

its got twice as much torque and the cornering is what makes it feel lumbersome

but its got cushy heated leather seats and It fits more than moi so I like it
