Bridgestone folks, who went with full tread and who's experimenting with shaving? Making this switch before the Packwood CT.

They were fast after just a few runs. Is there a practice course on Friday? I would just break them in a bit on Friday and that's it.

We started at 32/30 and bleed them down to Hot 30/27. That 30/27 was the magic number that won. Car got faster each run. And that has held all year, my fastest run at each event has been my last run.

Full tread here. There is a rumor that there is a compound change(for the bad) at 2/32 so I wouldn't shave them. My first set is basically at 3/32.

Fresh set for Moultrie Match, will break them in for a 100 street miles. Then run them on Fridays test track. Should be perfect for Saturday.

What's a typical alignment setting in STX?
Also, by how much are the cars typically lowered?
Assuming KW v3 coilovers what sway bars are you guys running it with?
(I can only find older bits an pieces in relatively old threads).

EDIT: I did find this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30303
In general, people don't appear to lower the car significantly? (Maybe one inch).

My alignment/ setup/etc is semi detailed here.

http://www.motoiq.com/Projects/Subaru/AutocrossBRZ.aspx

As for ride height that ends up being personal preference, corner weighting, involve rake and such too. I was supprised how low some of the newer prepped Twins are going for ride height though.

Thank you for your info. What's your approximate height ride change - 30 mm maybe?

I understand that STX is running on a stickier tires this year than previous years. Has this affected the suspension set-up? And if yes what did people change?

I am not exactly sure what my ride height is at currently as I haven't measured it. I normally measure the ground clearance from the pinch welds down when on a level surface.

I have slightly changed my rear camber removing some to try to get a better contact patch for the launch. Other than that my alignment hasn't changed

My set up is fortune auto coils. 8/9k spring rates. wheels are 18x9.5, tires are dunlop dz101 regular street tires 245/40/18. Went to auto cross this past weekend. I tried an even setting of damping of 6/7 clicks from full soft, and it over steered way too much. Ended up with 10 clicks front and 3 clicks rear at the end of the day. It was better but still was twitchy and oversteered a bit.. I know my tires aren't that great, but does anyone have any recommendations on how to get the car a bit more neutral?

Your spring rates are fairly high, which may be causing some of it. I think most people are on a square spring setup or higher rates in the front, but yours is the reverse. What sway bars do you have? What kind of surface are you running on?

BTW, in case you didn't know, your wheels are too wide for STX.

The vendor I bought my coils from recommended I get stiffer in the rear.. not sure why..
no sway bars, just stock ones. The location was auto club speedway autox. The surface was concrete with lots of rocks imbedded in it? Hard to describe.

It was just my first practice event! So just still learning everything at the moment.

^it is because of motion ratio is higher in the front than the back. And many recommendations may be for a road(track) course instead of a autox course. There are a lot of variables too, like driving style and course layout.

Changing tire pressures and maybe adding a front sway bar would help some.

I think it was because from factory the front was less than the tears. Yeah I understand there are many variables. However driving in some canyons my friends said the same. Stiffer front and a lot softer in the rear seemed to help with my current set up.. but I just wanted to get some input from others.

Tire pressure was 34 hot. My tires got a beating haha. So looking to get other tires soon. Hmm haven't looked at sway bars yet.

Try disabling/removing the rear sway bar. I have Fortune Auto 500s with 9k/9k springs. Even with no rear bar, I have no problem rotating. It did good job of taming the beast though. And, no bar saves weight.

Your wheels are too wide for STX.
