It is the middle of not-car season. Who is in need of a group drive to scratch the itch? I'm thinking of organizing a fast boi rally out to the Junction.

UPDATE: Lets do it.

Who: A small group of drivers who are comfortable on Calaveras, Mines Road, and both sides of Hammy. Open to any cars.
What: A mid-winter drive to scratch the itch.
When: Sunday 1/19/2020
Where: Calaveras > Mines > Mt. Hamilton
Why: not?

Route: https://goo.gl/maps/V8b8B1B62WhsBkVm6

Schedule:
10:15am - Meet at a conveniently located donut shop - Christy Donuts 1291 E Calaveras Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035
10:30am - Leave
11:30am - Lunch stop at The Junction YELP
1:15pm - Lick Observatory

Pick a day. Post it up. As of yesterday Mines is in good shape I was told. Not sure with the a storm supposed to be coming through tomorrow though. Hard to plan too far in advance with the weather that's supposed to be coming though I think.

I'd probably be down for the 18th or 19th. I need to replace some of my under trays and would like to swap my suspension out this weekend still lol

Yea I'm looking for a weekend with at least no rain falling and Weather Underground usually is pretty good for 10 days out.

Definitely feel free to post one up! Weather is definitely a big factor, which makes larger organized drives this time of year a bit tough to schedule.

TBH, I'm hoping that I can convince a small group of hard drivers to come out than a large group of "risk averse" drivers.

Yes let's publicly advocate risk taking on a road that has killed people. That'll end well and really serve to garner respect for twin drivers.

You and I have both been on this forum a long time. I agree with you that Twin drivers are skewing towards the new "civic crowd" and the lack of appreciation that garners from the general public.

I do not want the financial headache of dealing with damaging my car, or the shame and liability of hurting other people. Safety is essential. I bought this car to drive it. I'm going to get the most enjoyment out of my vehicle while operating within those confines. To expand those confines, I go to a track. If there are like minded people that are comfortable with that mentality I would love for them to join me for a quick afternoon on the back roads.

I think if you joined me on that day, you would largely approve of my driving choices.

For those that weren't able to join up, the drive went great. A quick summary below.

1x Donut Shop
2x Snowball Fights
1x Cow in the road
8x Cars
10x people
6x burgers
3x fish tacos
0x trouble

will do again.
