Largest tire size on stock rims?
What are the largest tires (size wise) I can fit on the stock rims?

I have heard you can go with 225, but I would like to see a picture of this first. The 215 already look like they are a bit too wide for the 7" rim though, at least to me.

225 40s should fit pretty easily.

I put 225 45 hankook ipikes on my stock wheels. Looked fine, not pinched. I sold them to a guy with a legacy.

Nobody makes these in street legal tread patterns. 225/45 is the closest you can get.

I know someone running 235/40r17 NT01s... 7J is not an approved rim width for that size, but it works. I dont think the reduced lateral stiffness would be worth the extra tread width though.

Some 215/45 Federals would be plenty wide. They're like a 225 anyway.
Just gotta find 'em first...

225/40/17 dont offer a lot of selection, what about 225/45/17?

225/40 would be a bit short. I'd go 225/45. Slightly taller than stock, but barely.
Maybe 225/40 if you want shorter gearing for autox or something.
