I can consistently get pops if I drag my clutch at all on downshifts, but if I’m perfect with my rev-matching they disappear. I kind of like it that way actually since I can control the pops.
Yeah, could be technique/process-dependent. I am personally enjoying the occasional pops.

Oh yeah, one of the tips arrived slightly bent so I'll try to see if i can get that replaced somehow.

Good day to you sir! Was this a gen 1 or a gen 2 Spec L?

I pulled the trigger on a Gen1 HKS Spec L to replace my premium Legamax. I’ll have it installed Saturday morning. I hope it’s better and louder. Otherwise I will lose my shit.

Not sure if this has been discussed

Has anyone tried different/longer exhaust hangers for catbacks that line up a bit off? It seems a lot of exhausts seem to sit slightly crooked for whatever reason. Not sure if its a Gen 1 exhaust on Gen 2 but I know a few people locally have the same issue and I have with multiple catbacks.

I've used different hangers and you can do the Perrin trick with shaft collar clamps to center the exhaust in the cutouts too.

I used to Grimmspeed two position hangers on my Borla.

I didn't mention it in the video because it cropped up weeks/months later was doing this for me actually created an exhaust leak where the catback fits up to the front pipe. The hangers are stiff enough to pull the catback away and the spring bolts can't hold it together. I tried Permatex red sealant to help, but it still leaks a bit.

Don't let that sway you away from using different hangers and trying things. Each exhaust is different. I might get back under there in the spring and see if I can adjust it towards the front of the car slightly to make it seal better.

Good to know. We have a HKS front pipe so no spring bolts, so maybe it won't cause any issues.
