Installed New Clutch. P0011 Code Came On.
I’ve recently installed, with a help of few friends, a new ACT Clutch to my BRZ. We put everything back together and once we gave it a start the car started to idle very roughly jumping from 500 to even 2k rpms as if it was trying to stay alive. Shortly after it turned off as if it stalled. Friend turned it on again same issue and tried to go for a test drive. Car stalls every time it is put into neutral. Even while car is going downhill in neutral, same result. Later after the test driving the P0011 code shows up. We cleared it and tried again but same result. I’ve been digging around but still couldn’t find an issue related to my topic. I’m 80% sure the clutch install went right but as my experience for working on cars is little and is mostly leaned on another person my friends and I have no clue what happened. Any ideas? and please go easy on me

P0011 is the camshaft position sensor. Do you have a code reader? It should tell you which bank/sensor it is.

Broke a driver's side cam sensor doing my clutch 3 months ago, just snapped the plug off the end of it.
Amazon had me a new one in two days. |

I didn’t catch it. Friend just cleared the codes and it hasn’t came back since.

You only need to have two people helping you - one to hand you tools and the other to run and get more beer. That way if you screw something up, you'll know who did it. https://www.autoblog.com/2016/03/25/...shaft%20timing. Good luck getting it sorted out. I'll guess you knocked a connection lose. |

I forgot to mention this but the traction control light is also on. I've read around the forums of these symptoms happening to many others but for this to happen after we install a clutch? It's painful to say. Friend suggests I buy an Open Flash Tablet which I'd rather not do or just call this issue to Subaru... I've had another friend suggest the clutch itself could be the issue whereas its throwing off the crankshaft position sensor in some way. Other than that I'm still stumped... |

Yeah that code will tell you a lot. A good reader can also get the history of recent codes as well. Also there are 4 cam position sensors and the crank sensor. Sounds like you still have 2 more cam sensors to check?

P0102 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circut Low Input p0011 Intake Camshaft Position Timing- Over-Advanced (Bank 1) p0021 Intake Camshaft Position Timing- Over-Advanced (Bank 2) p0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) So before I had scanned anything I took out the Crankshaft Position Sensor testing it for resistance and if it were still working. I decided to not put it back in and come back to it a later day. My friend decides to turn on my car in Accessory Mode, as the sensor is still not plugged in, to pump someone's tires as I have Air Suspension with a adapter to my tank. These codes were not there until the day of and was wondering what could've triggered this? |

I feel like with all those codes the MAF would likely be the cause because it might cause the others but the others would probably not cause it. SO I would check the wire going to the MAF and/or test/replace the MAF. (Put your cranksensor back in first though)
