Well, just did the Gr1 race. Tried a few laps with the R92CP, but I could tell I wasn't going to place well. Tried it with the Mazda VGT on mediums while trying to do a no stop...that didn't work and I had to pit in at the end of lap 8 for tires and a splash of gas (about 2/3's laps worth). Ended up getting 3rd only.

Tried VR with GT7, just a few laps in the Zupra at Laguna on a controller which I haven't used in forever. It really changes the game. It did make me a bit motion sick which surprised me but not bad, probably due to the elevation on Laguna and still messing with the settings. I feel 100% after a few minutes. Speaking of elevation, holy fuck does the corkscrew feel huge in VR! A screen does it no justice. Depth perception feels really good, much easier to judge braking and distance to other cars. No stuttering or lag. Absolutely recommend.

No, I did Nords in a BRZ. Felt pretty good till I hit the sector after the first carousel.

I know a few people that get nauseous racing Road Atlanta in IRL, lol. So I'm curious.

I'd say right now in VR, it will. A couple of my local tracks have lots of elevation change and they don't bother me. I don't think I have been motion sick or sea sick since I was 10-12. I guess it takes 2-4 weeks to get used to VR. Looking forward to RA though, haven't played GT7 in almost a year so I haven't driven it yet.

Another thing I will say is in the BRZ in VR, looking around everything is there as you would expect sitting in the real car. Controls, vents, switches. It's also cool being able to look into your side mirrors and see behind you and being able to turn your head and look through corners helps a lot on double apex corners like T2 at Laguna. I always struggled picking up a reference point on those on a screen.

Did a 2 lap race in a stock BRZ to see how I would feel and I was fine. Did 6 lap after and started feeling a little off but not nauseous at the end. I am finding the trick is to not focus on the elevation and focus more on a steady spot in the distance if I know it is a spot that might bother me. As soon as I crest the hill under the bridge if I focus on the apex of T12 I am okay. If I look down at the bottom of the hill it gets me a little. I do find that seeing the car bounce around in my peripheral vision bothers me a little bit but not bad. So 3 goes at it and improving.

That hill is big as F too.

Just for fun I opened up the game for the first time in a while and tried the Kei car menu. That shit is hard.

Vr2 was a game changer for me. Much prefer it over tv now. Took a feel days to build up tolerance.

Data point:
Watkins Glen, stock Gr86, curbings used but not driving pass them.

Logitech g29 wheel
Tv: 2:12.4
Vr2: 2:11.9

Finally won a GT7 sports lobby race. I got knocked down to A sportsmanship due to the last race for some reason (don't tell me cuz it was due to me bump drafting someone), but still nice to finally win a race.

Congrats! I pick and choose which Sports Mode races to bother participating in. For one thing, I dislike Gr3/4 races. if I wanted to race GT3/4 cars I would just buy ACC. I tend to stick to street car races, but the track selected has a big impact on my decision to race. It's so easy to get f*cked by your competitors and the penalty system is notoriously stupid.

So much fun to get spun by a competitor on lap one, dropping to last place. And then the game tacks on an 1.5 - 3.0 second penalty for collision with the wall. Absolutely unbelievable.

Also I still haven't managed to beat the Grand Valley Gr1 race. And I'm not gonna do it with a fake car. Tried the McLaren F1 car and did horrible. Somehow that car chews up tires even worse than the heavier LMPs. I came in last place. Tried again with the Audi TDI R18 LMP (think that's the correct model desig) and came in 3rd. I hear it's possible to win with the SF90 formula car - will try once I have one of those.
