Winter Storm Nemo (The Aftermath!)
Folks have started posting up pics of 'the morning after' in the New England regional forums but I figured folks from all over might get a kick out of this.
Here's the NE thread. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28424 Anyone else with some cool pics post them up!

So we got a massive blizzard in these parts back in October of 2011 which I dealt with the old fashioned way (shovels). I've always just shoveled but after that storm I bought a new snowblower because eff that.
Thank the LORD that I did that....

two kids, about 12-13, came knocking on my door offering to shovel my driveway which is about 100 feet long and 25 feet across. They asked for $10 each. I agreed. After an hour and not even getting half way done I gave them $15 each and sent them on their way, I had a buddy coming over to plow anyway.
I loved their enthusiasm, but this was WAY too much to do with a shovel, especially for children. |

Makes me miss IL winters. I love the warm southern weather, and granted I don't really want a blizzard, but anything would be nice.
That and if we get a couple of inches here shit shuts down. Seriously, six inches here is probably equivalent to that up there. |

Wow! That's butt load of snow. Most I've ever seen here in KY is a little over a foot.

Here in North Carolina things grind to a halt if snow is even predicted. Seriously, they close schools long before a single drop of precipitation even hits the ground.

living in the south im like most the others, i was in basic in georgia and they stopped training because we were told it was going to snow and we didnt have the proper cold weather gear at the time for a field mission.. anyways, i seen all sorts of stuff in central texas and southern georgia about how people got with a half inch of snow..
then i moved to central illinois.. i was shocked.. there was over a foot of snow and everything was normal.. like mcdonalds was open.. it was a shock as everything always closed down.. i lived there two winters.. wont go back to the north.. i love so cal.. it was freezing here last two days.. upper 50's lower 60's.. ill take that anyday of the week thank you very much |
