I don't have anything reserved at all. Driveclub and Killzone will be my day one purchases though, most likely. It's close enough to xmas that I can get another one soon after. There's a good chance I'll get BF4 on the PC when it's out.

Titanfall might be okay. If it is I'll pick it up on PC, or I'll wait until it's out on PS4. Bunch of other things to look forward to though. The Division, The Crew (both online-only mmo style, uh oh!), Watchdogs, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart, Pikmin 3, X (Xenoblade chronicles sequel). And of course Destiny! Loooooooots of good stuff coming out.

You said that xbone sales would increase due to titanfall like halo did for the xbox... which is wrong since titanfall will be released for pc meaning theres no reason to buy the xbone for that game

fanboyism is like being blind, I suppose

Interesting... I understood what he was originally trying to say

Besides, gaming PCs are not everyone's cup of tea. Console = plug and play. PC gaming = plug, configure, play.

To some, configuring a system is out of the question.

Personally, for me, I enjoy tinkering around with my PC. Just don't feel like paying more than $500 (mainstream/enthusiast AMD 8xx video card, CPU, RAM, mobo, etc.) to start upgrading it to play upcoming games that will be out on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Side note: Still running an oc'ed i7 920, 12 GB DDR3, and an HD 5870.

I'll buy both. But probably into the 2nd year and 3rd year of the lifecycle of both consoles and PS4 will be the earlier. I'm expecting tons of issues on the first year on both consoles.

he said it was EXCLUSIVE to the xbone, ergo more sales... which is completely false as it will be available for pc... sure itll get the xbone some sales... but real hardcore gamers will most likely purchase titanfall on pc as its far superior to the xbone and keyboard/mice >>> controller for fps

Everyone knows that when talking about console exclusives, it means exclusive to that console compared to the other consoles. PC gamers are pretty much never considered as cross shoppers, so they are just omitted from the definition. Its been that way as long as I can remember. PC gamers seem to constantly need to justify their superiority over the peasant class console scum. The best irony is that most of them (myself included) don't give a crap that your $1500 super rig can obliterate my pedestrian console.

In the world of consoles, titanfall is exclusive to xbox one because it does not appear on any other console. There is a version being built for 360, but will not be the same thing.

/sigh

If the Xbox One goes through something similar like the launched Xbox 360s... I might just jump ship after my first Xbox One dies (Not that I would want it to, but if does end up dying, hopefully it will be after I get done beating Halo and playing the crap out of Forza /skeptical). I have been through 4-5 Xbox 360s since launch. Got a PS3 back June 2007 and just recently replaced it a month or two ago due to the YLoD. Only reason I am jumping on the Xbox One is like I said previously... Forza and Halo.

What all is there to configure on a PC anymore though, really? Most software will auto-detect optimized settings for the user. All you need is an input device, a gamepad, power cable, and HDMI into the TV.

I wouldn't worry too much about upcoming console games overpowering computers. All of this hype about how consoles suddenly have the most amazeballs graphics ever happens every single console generation. A high end computer now with a GTX 680 already outpaces the PS4 as shown in the Unreal demos. Yes, that's a semi-expensive build, but PC hardware gets faster and cheaper. Console hardware is static for the entire generation.

http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/15...red-to-the-ps4

Even if you like to tweak, it's ridiculously easy now and requires minimal user input unless you're min-maxing. No more jumpers, no more setting timings, clock speeds, and multipliers, watching it burn for 24 hours to make sure you have a stable OC. You put your stuff together like Legos, hit the Overclock button on the motherboard or in the software, your computer reboots a few times and bam, you have an extra 700mhz!

And if you don't, go buy an out of the box AMD APU system with an open PCI-E slot and throw a gfx card in when you're no longer happy.

edit:
PC gaming tends to have a stigma because in the past, yes, you used to have to jump through some hoops at times to get a better experience. But I think as more and more people are shown that it's about as effortless as hooking up a console, we'll see even more PC gamers than ever.

Yeah, all you need to do to really enjoy PC gaming is spend 3 times the cost of a console, and update the hardware every 2 years. :P

I am 80% a PC gamer and 20% console gamer and I still agree with this statement.

You can't put together a gaming PC that will outperform the PS4 for $400. I love my PC. I am glad that now that I put the money into it I can just upgrade it. But in no way do I think it is cheaper than console gaming.

I can configure a pc for 800 bucks that will outpace any new console... so i don't know where you're getting 3times the cost
